I got into an argument with my girlfriend over this shit yesterday. She said who gives a shit it's just the boy scouts and it doesn't matter if a girl wants to join. All the guys i knew that were into boy scouts did it as a form of escapism, mostly nerds or those who are a bit of a social outcast, but still very competent young men. So it was a good outing for them, an early brotherhood where they could relax and be among friends.
Now instead of being able to get away from the roastie social hierarchy and narcissistic sociopaths present throughout public school and elsewhere, it's not going to infest the Boy Scouts. 50 years ago they were basically just 'BSA for girls' with a slightly more domestic twist.
