No. Xi was able to totally take over the entire Chinese government, revealing its weakness. Everyone thought China had somehow solved the problem of how to do stable transitions of power in a dictatorship, but clearly this was mistaken. It's possible Xi will continue to do okay and China will stay stable, but rapid growth and development has a habit of destabilizing governments. If there's a big recession or whatever, China's new middle class might start demanding more political rights. I think it's *likely* that China stays stable and continues its AI push (which is why I answered OPs question by saying China), but their political system is not what we thought it was. Democracy is still the best, for the moment.
