In order to be a dual-citizenship, it has to be recognised by both countries. You're looking at the wrong side.
China does not allow dual or multiple citizenship, so as Japan, so as other Asian countries. Should mention that even after they gained citizenship their children continued studying at MU and they lived in China.

Other legislation such as Migrate Act 1958, Crime Act and Federal Crime Code should also be mentioned in high school level, as Australia is an immigration country. Citizenship Act should be mentioned too.
If no such teachings in school, then this kind of education is a failure.
