If you were to look at a chart of the IQs of the right wing vs the left wing. The left wing would probably be more centered around mostly people with IQs of 95-110. The leftist way of life sounds nice; everybody equal, everything free, peace, caring, etc etc. That’s why intelligent people fall for it when they’re young. Because it’d be an ideal world for an intelligent person to inhabit. But there’s a reason that so many who were leftists when they were young switch more and more to the right as they get older and wiser. It’s simply unworkable. For everyone to be treated equal requires everyone to act equal. It goes against human nature. Everyone’s different. Intelligence is just a tool, user. It's entirely possible to use a good sophisticated tool and still fail at a given task if the tool is not well suited to the task ( however advanced the tool is in itself), if you lack proper information of the task at hand ( think about politics and life experience) or if your measurments are wrong ( think lack of world knowledge) or for many other reasons we might think of.
There are also other tools one may employ when trying to understand the world: for example what we loosely call " wisdom".
And we all will use the tools we have available according to our personality. Powerful tools will evrn lead to hugely negative effects when used by the wrong personality. Think reckless behavior and a formula 1 car.
