user, you realized oil is a renewable yet?
ABIOTIC OIL BTFO OPEC

>user, you realized oil is a renewable yet?
I hope its not so it runs out and we all die.
Saturn's moon Titan has "lakes" of hydrocarbons. The only logical explanation is that billions of dinosaurs flew to Titan, died, and turned to oil. Abiotic oil is a meme.
this
>he thinks oil comes from dinosaurs
kek brainlet
Fucking winning.
agreed, titan obviously had plants at some point
This is blowing my mind
>plants
>on Saturn's moon
There has never been life on other planets of any kind.
T. nasa kikes
>What is reserves growth
The NASA kikes are the ones justifying their existence with bullshit fairytales to ensure they continue getting funding.
There's no good reason to go to earth moon or further. Total waste of time, money and resources.
kill yourself
Petroleum engineer here. Life is good
I bet you think the earth is round too...
Well, not oil. Methane and other lightweight compounds.
>Canadian Petroleum engineer
A rare breed indeed. I've been stuck in the New Albany for awhile and praying we keep drilling.
What has humanity gained from launching hundreds of billions of dollars worth of tech further than our own moon?
If we do not become a type 2 civlization we will die on this planet.
Nasa is a front, we all know that.
We need to bring the DOD's space program to light and it seems Trump is doing just that.
We WILL gain the galaxy, retard. It's been just 50 years since the moon landing, that's nothing in historical perspective.
1 planet = humanity's extinction.
>if we don't leave this planet full of food, water, and oxygen and travel to where there is none of those things we will go extinct
Nothing last forever user. Even humanity. Resistance is futile.
In other words the stuff floating at the top that we can actually see.
There's methane on top of our oil here on earth.
Oil industry has known that oil is abiotic for a while. Liberals are like religious fanatics that will not believe anything that contradicts the world as they learned it when they were teenagers.
water
pressure
microbes
heat
time
iron might be a catalyst
Oil and gas has never been about actual reserves, it's technically recoverable reserves. If it were all reserves methane hydrate reserves would be over 99% of existing surface reserves. There's no way to drill beyond 50-60,000 ft using existing technology, so for the time being the only oil that matters is what is accessible.
Not trying to trash it, but an abiotic process doesn't mean it's a rapid one. The CO2 and hydrogen must come from somewhere, and at the rate we are consuming our oil, a process rapid enough would not allow for the long periods of high CO2 concentration we see in the past.
how the fuck should i know, faggot? you made the claim. you're the one who is obligated to provide the proof
we live in cycles
we can not leave this planet if we do our DNA changes
>abiotic process doesn't mean it's a rapid one.
Despite all our efforts at burning it, we are producing more and cheaper than ever before.
sounds pretty fast to me
You talking shit about my home?
>oil is a renewable
yep it is... only gotta wait a few million years for it.
It's almost as though a breakthrough technology may have had an impact on production!
That has nothing to do with exploitable reserves.
The answer is nothing, which was my entire point. If all the research and financial resources given to NASA to send overpriced toys to a meaningless one way trip were instead allocated to cure diseases or increase food production on earth humanity would be far better off.
>we're in danger of running out
Oil seeping upwards... through zero permeability formations? Do you know the background of the shale boom? We need to frack for a reason! Look up permeability. A shale formation has on the order of nanodarcies of permeability compared to .5-1.5 for sandstone. There is no flow from below...it's a literal "no flow barrier".
yes i could see the population explosion in africa now
Correct, fracking is tapping into those trillions of barrels of abiotic oil by letting them seep upwards.
Well then it's not really abiotic, but it might be almost as good as forever.
That would be good news (I have no fucking clue where you took that from, but your extract admit it's speculative, not certain) but even if it's true we'll sill have to deal with the environmental issues.
>not knowing that the ayys abducted all the dinosaurs, dropped them on Titan, and cleared a comfy planet for their alien/monkey hybrids to chill.
user please.
Abiotic just means not dino at this point.
Great, I didn't know I was talking to a revered geologist. And a groundbreaking professor of geomechanics at that!
I had no idea that fractures propagated AGAINST the maximum stress!
No, not really. It literally means not biological. This could still of biological nature, just older.
I read Thomas Gold years ago.
Speaking of fracking and shale oil in the U.S., what kind of geopolitical fuckery did the U.S. pull on traditional oil producing countries to ensure the price of oil stayed where fracking is profitable?
If the U.S. somehow gets a monopoly on oil exports the rest of the world might as well just give up and request statehood.
>methane
So its filled with a bunch of drunken farting Irishmen and their fat farting wives?
Service costs dropped tremendously, that's all there is. Also shale reservoirs tend to have an advantage in terms of volume compared to traditional reservoirs but lower flow (permeability) area. Fracking increases flow area on the order of millions so it gives access to all that volume. As service costs went down and networks were developed, the cost to re-frack a well dived.
Meanwhile the Middle East had set up social services costing in that 50-60 range (some like Nigeria have much higher costs) so they wanted it around there anyway. Saudi, UAE, and Bahrain were fine letting it stay in the 30s but the rest of OPEC was begging for relief.
Between these 2 sides we're at a medium. There will likely be a dovetail in production here in the next 5 years due to a lack of talent, running out of Drilled but Uncompleted Wells (wells that were drilled at the peak but not set up for producing), and natural depletion.
unlikely that humans are the only nibbas on the block
There are tons of different hydrocarbons, not just petroleum
then it wont matter if you kill yourself right now, correct? then do it
the shills the last ~2 years swore the US was going to collapse and china was going to overtake us. hahahahahahaha
aah hahahahahahaha
Fun Fact: Every bank with Citi in the name is a Rothchilds bank.
Rather be stuck on a planet full of niggers?
Why do I pay $3.6 per gallon?
Oil is more a mineral. Rockefeller was the one responsible for giving it a biological origin.
Because you live in a cuck state. $2.30 here
because state tax on gasoline
yeah it's 2.49-2.56 here, lucky with the 2.30
3.6 yeah, your state is straight fucked.
bump
Yes it is renewable, doesn't come from dead Barneys...comes from decomposing life like plants, people animals. Etc....makes you wonder why the Middle East has so much of it...or why they find fossils of tropical plants in Antarctica...I'll move along now
Wouldn't it be better if you exhaust someone else's oil first?
Oil is easy to make, veg matter and wax burn in slow flame you fucking cuck bandit..
It's not renewable relatively speaking.
we can make diamonds
why not oil?
I like the way you think, elaborate please.
Op lacks critical thinking and needs opinions to be formed by others. It's okay.
he thought i was tricked, thank you user.
three components: High Pressure, High Temperature and large amounts of Time.
Go ahead and guess which of the three we can't control.
abiotic oil is Russian science
Dinosaurs aren't real. Fossil fuels aren't real.
thinking oil comes from dinosaurs...
Crude oil was made over millions of years from tiny plants and animals, called plankton. The plankton on the left would form oil in about 150 million years time if the sea bed is not disturbed.
The plankton that lived in the Jurassic period made our crude oil.
Don't fall for the nitrogen tire fill with your car also , bc air is already like 90% nitrogen...people fall for stupid shit
Bullshit.
>time
you haven't been paying attention have you?
we've got wizards now
>save your oil for last
Wasn't that the point of using all of Canada's first?
abiogenic, you mean, and yes that means generated without biology, so it did not get BTFO, BIOGENIC OIL BTFO. fucking n00b.
What do you mean due to a lack of talent?
Michael Jordan retired
Stupidest fucking thing I have ever heard.
Fossils are found stratigraphically below oil, micro fossils are found in drill cores at depth below oil.
Oil originates from rocks that originated as fine grained marine sediments, the kind you almost exclusively find below deep ocean waters. Oil also contains carbon, therefore you must have a trapped source of carbon being deposited in the marine sediments, this carbon must be in solid form otherwise it would never become trapped in the sediment.
it's poop oil that washes into the earth and separates, leaving a fuel
