does anyone know for sure if they automatically check for HIV stuff when you get a blood test in the hospital as part of a general check up? or do you have to request a special test?

I am HIV+ and it's honestly nothing like it was in the 80s, just take your pills and eventually you will become "undetectable" which means the viral load is so low it can't be detected, and you can't transmit the virus to anyone.
If you were exposed you could take PEP within 72 hours and you won't seroconvert a.k.a get pozzed.
If you get tested and you don't have it, I'd recommend taking PrEP if you continue to slut around. It's like birth control; it has 99% chance of protection against the virus. You just take it once a day, and the side effects are just like aspirin.

But you can't know you got HIV until 3 months after the suspected exposure date.
