Finland’s Supreme Court rejected a request from the prosecution to appeal a three-year jail term for a 23-year-old man on Thursday.Finnish media identify him as Juusuf Muhamed Abbudin, an asylum seeker, but don’t reveal his country of origin.
The man was convicted of aggravated sexual abuse, although the prosecution had sought a harsher sentence on charges of aggravated rape. However, the court left the original verdict unchanged.
The incident took place near the city of Tampere in southern Pirkanmaa region in autumn 2016. The man had sexual intercourse with a girl, who was 10-years old at the time, in the yard of a deserted apartment block. He also exchanged sexually charged messages with her.

No force does not mean you walk free, it only means that the crime committed is named sexual abuse. The abuse being constituted by the lack of consent. Lack of consent is a bad bad thing, but force is worse. That is why laws discriminate between rape (force) and sexual abuse (lack of consent). I agree that three years prison time for the sexual abuse of a child is a scandalously low punishment and should be enough to cause riots in the streets.
Example: In Greece if you use force or a threat of grave and immediate danger to obtain intercourse or sexual relations of any kind (even a blowjob) or even to tolerate a sexual act of any kind you commit rape and you get between 5 and 20 years. If rape is committed by two or more in common then your get from 10 to 20 years. Now, if you have consensual sex or sexual acts of any kind with a minor under 12 years old, you get from 10 years to 20 years. The same as if you had group-raped an adult. So, in Greece, if you have consensual sex or sexual acts of any kind with a minor under 12 years old, you do not commit the crime of rape, yet still you get punished worse than you would be punished if you had raped an adult person. Don't stick to labels. Stick to the severity of the penalty. The finnish case is disgusting because of the ragingly low sentence, not because it was not judged as rape.
