Literally every food that both Turks and Greeks claim to have invented, was invented in the Ottoman Empire. Greeks changed the Turkish names to Greek ones after the Cypriot crisis 'n stuff. I'm with Turks on this one. Literally the one good thing they have is good food.
Empires bring cultures together which creates new food. All these foods are a product of cultural mixing and can't be assigned to a single country in my opinion. Greeks and Turks are genetically quite similar anyways
