>Be Europoor >read up on the civil war (because it's basically not taught here in school) >watch a few documentaries >watch the assasination of jesse james if you see like 5000-7000 of your comrades die a day each major battle i can imagine you become somewhat delusional living in the world the so called victors are creating for you. Other than that it's great depression kino,.. though my question is what other great movies can you guys recommend revolving around this type of period,.. like it's almost forgotten or unknown here.
also we were taught the civil war was about slavery but it's pretty much proved that slavery didn't make the scene well until 2-3 years into the civil war when lincoln needed propaganda to push more people into his ranks and that the blacks in first instance were left out and thought it would be wiser to let whitey fight over their """independence"" between eachother
The Jews hated it and made the dude make the movie Intolerance afterwards, which blames intolerance for all of the problems of the world. Kikes loved the movie so much that they co-opted the Babylonian style of the period sets for the famous Babylon arch in Hollywood.

Watch this I have no idea why it's one of Clint's lesser talked about works
Its even worse than that. The name "civil war" is a lie....a CW is one in which two groups fight to control a single body politic.
What happen there was the south tried to secede and was invaded and burnt to the ground. Its proper name is: The war of northern aggression.
Leo Wright
It's weird how in my school they basically taught us that the South was blooming in production of goods and the North got butthurt about it. Kind of how I remember it.
Watch Ken Burn's Civil War doc series on Netflix, it is absolutely kino. Very comfy to fall asleep to as well. It has great pacing, and the historians interviewed makes it seem like they were actually there. 10/10 Documentary
Homosexuality is pretty popular now. Check your gay privilege.

nice post, but saying that The Civil War was about slavery is like saying WW2 was about pearl harbor. slavery was the last straw in a long list of attacks on "states rights" that the north had been pulling to the detriment of the south for years.
Tranny does a slideshow, with a leftist slant, no thanks.

I prefer reading about the Boer wars. Everything about America post Polk just depresses me.

Is he wrong? and why would I remove the swastika?

How does this rectify the aggression of the north? They invoked their right of secession and got invaded.

You're the one into girls that look like 12 yr old boys.

Seriously, I never cared for her looks until seeing OP's pic. She didn't look at ALL attractive to me in ANY way. What the fucking fuck is wrong with the faggots that do her makeup?
To give her fans the illusion that she needs make up like them so she can sell her girl nextdoor brand to the Untermensch.

Sup NederBro. So, quick rundown on the Civil War - South has a largely agrarian economy based on the export of cotton, particularly to Britain. The North has a burgeoning industrial economy but is having trouble competing against cheap British imports. The North uses their political power to try and fight this economic handicap by introducing protective tariffs to protect their industries at the expense of the import-reliant South. This standoff creates a delicate balance of power in Congress with any shift almost coming to violence, such as the Nullification crisis during Andrew Jackson's presidency. Back up a little bit, to the Constitutional Convention for the US; the colonies are trying to figure out who gets how much representation in Congress. They've adopted a bicameral system to keep the balance between large and small states, but they're trying to figure out if slaves count into the population figures for awarding seats in the house of representatives. Enter the 3/5ths compromise, which counts slaves as 3/5s of a person when figuring this number out. This is important as it means that slaves are indeed counted. 1/?
Let's return to the standoff in congress. While all this is going on, all the territories we've settled are trying to gain statehood. Problem is if we're going to add them as free or slave states. Adding them to either side will upset the balance of power, which makes the addition of any new states a delicate game, leading to things like the Missouri compromise. So tense is the situation that when Kansas is granted the option to vote on their slave holding status armed gangs begin fighting each other to try and secure the state for their side in what's called "Bleeding Kansas". Recall this all is important because either side gaining the upper hand in even a single state will give them the all important majority in the Senate, not to mention extra seats in the House. And whoever wins gets to ensure their economic system will continue to survive, even at the expense of the other half of the country's. Lincoln's election is finally the tipping point. After flirting with the idea during the nullification crisis, South Carolina decides that the election of Lincoln, a man who was not even on the ballot in most of the Southern states, is the last straw and the only way to ensure their economic survival is separation from the Union. They secede, and when the North refuses to withdraw their stationed troops from South Carolina's territory, they fire on Fort Sumter, starting the Civil War. 2/3

>I have no idea why it's one of Clint's lesser talked about works Are you serious? That's like one of his best films. My dad and I love that one.

So was the Civil War about slavery? In a sense, yes it was. The Southern states certainly state as such in their declarations of secession. However, to stop there is a little sophomoric. Slavery was a key part of the South's economic system, which combined with their strong reliance on foreign trade put them well at odds with the North's vision of strong protective tarrifs to encourage domestic trade so as the enrich the North's industries at the expense of the South. Both sides had incompatible economic goals which could not be reconciled. Both attempted to use political means to force their way on the other, which led to a standoff that persisted from the founding of America up until the South's defeat at Appomattox. But was the Civil War really inevitable? In a marriage, when there are irreconcilable differences between the couple often the best course of action is to amicably split in a divorce. This was attempted by the South - however rather than accept this split the North said the South had no right to do as such and rather then withdrawing their soldiers from the South, reinforced the Fort Sumter garrison, leading to the battle there, and then subsequently launched an invasion of the South destroying them and their economy for generations to come.
So was the Civil War about slavery? I'd say no - secession was partially about slavery, the Civil War was cause by the North's refusal to recognize the South's right to do as such. 3/3
she actually looks showered, and the certainly has lipstick on, but no other make up, it seems.

It is one of his best ones but it's never mentioned Everyone jerks off over the man with no name trilogy but he has way better Westerns (i.e. Josey Wales, High Plains Drifter, Unforgiven)

Taylor Swift is anti-gun / pro-rape. I no longer support her.
i know some historians that prefer to call it "the war of rebellion/secession," mostly because the north and south were essentially different nations already with different economies, cultures, history and lineage. thanks for the history lesson
The war happened because Lincoln didn't want the country to be split. It could have been avoided if they didn't trample on the South's states rights.
Henry Davis
The civil war was about slavery in the since that the South believed individual States had the right to determine its status for itself. Federal government was viewed as having usurped many of the states own sovereign powers and slaver was the breaking point.
Not arguing, but what are some non-slavery related attacks on states rights by the North?

It could also have been avoided if the Deep South was allowed to leave and Lincoln hadn’t sent troops into Fort Sumter. Virginia, NC, Tennessee, and Arkansas would have remained in the US (only seceded after fort Sumter and the federal call for draft troops). What ensued was an illegal war against states that peacefully seceded by the democratic process.

The tariff of abominations (1828) placed 38% import taxes on nearly all goods. This only helped the north’s industry, and hurt southerners. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tariff_of_Abominations
I don't know what most modern day liberals think the soldiers in the north fought for, but if they think it was to end slavery than they are just as retarded as I expected. Northern whites wanted nothing to do with blacks. That should be evident 150 years later when even now we don't want to live around them. If Lincoln wasn't assassinated do you think he could have got his way and send all the blacks back to Africa?
>If Lincoln wasn't assassinated do you think he could have got his way and send all the blacks back to Africa?
At 1860, the census was a total of 3M black people on the books. According to Kikeberg, 6M Jews died in Germany 60 years later within a 3 year window. They didn't have any better technology (rail, forced labor, Zyclon) to accomplish such a feat than was available at 1865.
Imagine the heartache they could've saved humanity had they just made a sacrifice for future generations and America's prosperity if they would have just wiped them out then. Now we have 45M blacks in America that have grown into a toxic parasite bleeding this country dry for 60 years.
