The more I listen to Peterson and the more I read of his own writing, the more I get the interpretation that the man truly believes himself to be a prophet, a modern day Joseph Smith of sorts. He has fundamentally interesting things to say about his interpretation of the meanings behind certain biblical stories and lessons to be learned from them, but he always comments about them as if he's speaking from fact, as if his interpretation is the only one that's correct. He fits all the markings of a false prophet.
Perhaps the greatest issue is wishing to co-opt Christianity and inevitably tun his 'sect' that he wants to create into one of individualism, which is completely besides the point of Christianity and Christ's teachings. He speaks highly of Orthodox Christians and their need to earn their way to heaven (which I agree with him on), but then does a complete 180 and 5 seconds later talks about how the individual is sovereign, which is the exact point which orthodox Christianity criticizes.
He offers some nice self help advice for those in need of hearing it from another individual and don't have someone in their life which can lend them that kind of aid, but anything and everything he talks about in reference to religion and politics is dangerous and one should stay far away from
