I moved into a 2k/mo studio in the CA bay area, and these motherfuckers were inside. The apartment tried to tell me I brought them with me, and I would need to pay $1200 or so to have an exterminator come. Bed bugs are the absolute worst. Its a physically and psychologically draining experience, I would not wish it on anyone. They know when you sleep, and can smell your CO2. I couldn’t sleep for weeks, and eventually I rid them from my apartment without an exterminator with chemicals online. Probably shaved a few years off my life breathing all that shit, but it was worth it. Fucking horrible experience.
DDT was prohibited over some tiny % of side effects. Now we are back to dealing with all kinds of pests. No company in the right mind will make pesticide to face law suits over side effects. Enjoy bed bugs, lice and other shit that plagued humanity for millennia.

1) Bag up all clothing in trash bags and run through drier on high heat.

4) Awaiting steam cleaner to steam every nook and cranny.
5) Anything that can't go through the drier goes into my hot truck (130 degrees+) for at least three house.

The only people I knew in childhood who got scabies, bed bugs, and rashes/skin problems were my friends who were Filipino. When I went over to their houses, I noticed things that I thought were weird even back then.
They always seemed to be barefoot, and they often times seemed to leave things sitting out that should have been in a refrigerator. I remember seeing things like chicken drumsticks sitting out a day after it had been cooked with just a paper towel sitting over it.....rice sitting in the rice maker that had been cooked hours/day before.
I remember saying "dude, you should put the chicken inthe fridge" and he would be like we never get sick from it. Food doesn't necessarily smell nasty when it starts to spoil, but it is still very unhealthy to eat. Probably attracts loads of those weird bugs all over your house. My mom used to make me take my socks off before coming back inside my house.

I moved into a house that had bedbugs that I was not aware of. Once I noticed them I just smothered them all in food grade Diatomaceous earth. I left a small line in the corners of the walls and around the bed posts after throwing my old bed that they had gotten onto away. They would try and crawl up my bed posts or the walls to drop down on me but would die before they even got close.
After they were all dead I just vacuumed the stuff up and never had to worry bout them again.
I've known people who have spent thousands of dollars on pest control trying to kill them with poison only to never get rid of them. I spent 7 dollars and didnt have to sleep with poison all the time.
Hey, you can use poison all you want but they multiply so fast you have to keep them from getting your blood. Look in to .2 millimeter plastic wrap. It's $3 for 12x9 feet at Wal-Mart in the paint section. Get some tape and tape it to your mattress like a sheet. Then put some above you so they can't climb the wall and kamakazie down. It's so cheap get extra and put your clothes on it. Also the dryer kills them off your clothes.
Do this for a few months and they should die out

I had the same experience. Couldn't sleep for months even after I managed to get rid of them. Used to doze off in a chair fully dressed with gaffer tape reversed wrapped round the chairlegs & my legs so the fuckers stuck to it if they moved on me while I slept. I used a silicone mastik gun to seal up every crack & gap I could find in my apartment & diatomaceous earth in a 50/50 mix with powdered insecticide spread thin round the floors & blown into furniture etc. It worked well, but it was a truly horrendous time. Fucked my head up good n proper for some time after.
Silica powder like cimexa kills these fuckers relatively easily. Just by vacuuming, laundering, covering my mattress with a bedbug protector sheet, and spraying silica all over my apartment I got rid of a massive infestation in like 3 days. Works better than diomacecous earth or whatever it's called

Their data also suggest that 1 in 5 people either have it or know someone who does. Not everyone gets bit, or even has a reaction to getting bit. And sometimes you'll never even see one because they only come out for 10 minutes every days to feed.
