How does this even make sense? Lincoln believed blacks to be inferior and planned to ship them back to Africa to fully segregate the races once more.
I know people like to speculate about this war a lot, and from my understanding the South would never have really been able to win it just from the resource difference between the North/South, like manufacturing capabilities and naval presence, so what would it really have taken for the South to have a chance at winning the war and declaring independence?

The vast majority of white immigrants to America prior to the Revolution came in the form of indentured servitude - peasants who afforded the trip to America by essentially entering into a form of voluntary slavery for between seven and ten years once they reached America. That would actually be especially true in the South, since most of those indentured servants initially worked on plantations prior to the major upswing in African slavery. If anything your average Northerner is less likely to have indentured servants in their family history, and in any event most Southron plantation owners were typically descended from either indentured servants, or people who got rich off of indentured servants. Or some admixture thereof.
Post-Revolution European immigration was a bit more eclectic but still usually made up of lower-class folk.
However for the record my family didn't move to America until 1986. I come from a line of working- and middle-class Irish folk who made their living as stone masons, though my great-grandparents did their share of fighting in the Irish War of Independence and subsequent Irish Civil War.

No. Ever seen Gone with the Wind? The little speech that Rhett gives near the beginning about the difference in rail lines and coal mines and so on isn't far from the truth.
The entire Southern strategy was centered on the following premise:
1) Britain and France get most of their cotton from the South
2) Cotton is needed for industrial processes
3) Therefore, Britain and France will retaliate against the Union's blockade of the South to secure their needed cotton
This was the "King Cotton" strategy. However, it fails to take a number of things into account that weren't exactly secret and should have been considered.
1) Britain hated slavery. Hate hate HATED it, both at a governmental level and among the common people. They'd outlawed it throughout the entire British Empire in the 1820s and declared ships carrying slaves from Africa to be pirate vessels, subject to British seizure. They'd even risked war with France by blowing up a French coastal slave trading fort in Africa (that the French denied existed. After bombarding it, the British captain in charge sent to London: "The French assertion that there is no fortress is correct.")
2) Britain depended upon the North for GRAIN, as well as other foodstuffs. War with the North would allow them to have cotton but cut deeply into their food supply. In the choice between cotton and food, the British chose food, quite sensibly.
3) Other markets for cotton existed. Britain found it just as easy to start growing or buying cotton from Egypt and India. Sure, it was more expensive, but less expensive than declaring war on the North.
4) France was probably stronger than the North, but not much stronger, and lacked the ability to open a second front the way Britain did with Canada. Thus, France would not go to war with the North unless Britain also went to war. But Britain was not going to go to war.

As an addendum, Lincoln made it 100% clear that recognizing or trying to trade with the South would be considered an act of war against the North. Lincoln knew full well that the North was not capable of winning a fight against Britain and the CSA and probably not against France and the CSA (and certainly not all three combined), but also knew that Britain could not afford to go to war with the USA due to the food disruption that it would cause to Britain (unlike cotton, a viable alternate source for grain simply did not exist), and that France would not go to war without Britain's aid.
Say what you will about the man, but Lincoln had a mean poker face.

The Articles of the Confederation are explicitly a perpetual union ("Articles of Confederation and perpetual Union between the states[...]"). The Constitution of the United States is a "more perfect" union than that of the Confederation by design.
A perpetual union cannot be made "more perfect" by dissolving it.
I'm not bullshitting you, by the way, this was the actual legal argument being made by Lincoln and others at the time. You might not like it, but I doubt you're a lawyer so you don't get much say in the matter.
Now of course several counter-arguments can be made to this along the lines of "the Constitution is a full replacement for the Articles, the Articles should not be considered valid". And that's fine, but it means that the legality of secession is in limbo. Just because something is not enumerated in the Constitution does not mean that someone has a right to do it; the Constitution is mute on the subject of murder, but you do not have a right to commit murder, for example.
However the Constitution, Article I, Section 8, Clause 15 does outline that Congress shall have the power to call up a militia to both execute the laws of the Union and to suppress insurrections, while Clause 18 gives Congress broad power to act in ways that, while not specifically outlined in the Constitution, are still necessary for the running of the government (such as, say, preventing the secession of a large bloc over a perfectly legal and legitimate election that simply happened to not go their way)
When the South opened fire on Fort Sumter, they transformed their interesting political query and philosophical debate into an insurrection, and thereby clearly gave Congress and, through Congress, Lincoln, the authority to suppress their insurrection, in accordance with the Constitution which they signed and agreed to abide by.
TL;DR - if you wanted the moral high ground, you shouldn't have shot fist.
