I use linux on my laptop that is connected to the interbutts but for my desktop i run wangblows cause I use it for audio production and all the good plugins and libraries are win/mac

My old laptop still has W7 on it, but the reason I went with W10 on my new desktop was because certain games were unstable and couldn't be run on W7.

Pretty much, I used to do everything on linux before and gaming on windows, but then when I stopped playing games, I went fully linux on my main work laptop, and then there were classes in university where we needed to use some programming tools where it was windows only, and I didn't feel like bringing my windows laptop to school since T400 is pretty handy. I had to give up and start using wine.
Oh yeah definitely, if it's programs that you use on the side, they may work fine. But if you're talking about games or something that use gpus, they might not. I don't know.
