can we have a Jow Forums related music thread? i'm going to post some songs i think are relevant to Jow Forums and talk a about them a little bit. feel free to contribute.
first up is 'Devil in his Youth' by Protomartyr youtube.com/watch?v=HK8ZRjij7JU extremely unique in it's subject matter as it appears to address the problem of angry alienated young males (incels) lashing out against society, something i've never seen addressed in a song before.
But it all changed when he came of age It was nothing like the simulated game The women didn't love him The races all ignored him His proclamations failed So he screamed "Now you bend!" The devil in his youth I will make them feel the way I do I'll corrupt them till they think the way I do The devil in his youth
GANG OF FOUR - 5.45 youtube.com/watch?v=9E4M3U3WG40 even though this song came out in 1978, it's still very much relevant to modern times. just replace any mention of television with the internet. "Guerilla war struggle is a new entertainment"
TALING HEADS - LISTENING WIND youtube.com/watch?v=HEluoeMLTCI this song is about american imperialism, with the character "Mojique" taking up arms against the american invaders. even though the character is a native american, i think he could also represent any foreign "terrorist" Mojique buys equipment in the market place Mojique plants devices in the free trade zone He feels the wind is lifting up his people He calls the wind to guide him on his mission He knows his friend the wind is always standing...by. Mojique smells the wind that comes from far away Mojique waits for news in a quiet place He feels the presence of the wind around him He feels the power of the past behind him He has the knowledge of the wind to guide him...on.

wow sounds like absolute shit, punk is dead and should stay dead
DEATH GRIPS - FUCK WHOSE WATCHING youtube.com/watch?v=Eltn_nyOPh8 essentially a big fuck you to government surveillance. the entire album is about piracy, government sureillance and paranoia, but i think this song gets the point across the best.

LIFT TO EXPERIENCE - FALLING FROM CLOUD 9 youtube.com/watch?v=cI7k2tolfF0 imagine if james buckley made a 90 minute long wholesome christian rock concept album about the second coming of jesus in Texas. Then you have Lift to Experience. it's hard to just post one track because it's a concept album, so i highly recomend you listen to the whole thing. it's fucking beautiful. please ignore the cheesy cover art, this thing is actually amazing.
Be proud that you're a white amerikan Blond hair, bule eyes - a fine new aryan? Supremacy's the white man's burden? A final solution for all new aryans... Death to the nazis and the ku klux klan! Anarchy in the fatherland! Anarchy for all new aryans No master race is gonna rule my land! New order? No order! Disorder! ...Now!
i'm too much of a philistine to appreciate classical unfortunately
i kind of agree with you when it comes to regular punk, but post-punk is an entirely different thing. the lyrics are very often philosophical and political. youtube.com/watch?v=6KsxsO9FrLE
youtube.com/watch?v=BuQG6_evFc8 My mother worked 15 hours 5 days a week My mother worked 16 hours 6 days a week My mother worked 17 hours 7 days a week The best way to scare a Tory is to read and get rich The best way to scare a Tory is to read and get rich The best way to scare a Tory is to read and get rich
i don't know what you think of the King, but this album manages to succesfully combine the full sound of the classic orchestra with Elvis' gospel style which you can hear trasformed into a more mature spiritual country blues.
March of the Pigs - NIN, it's about the narrator's hatred of vapid, capitalistic consumption. Towards the end, the song becomes about submission. youtube.com/watch?v=6mDQNRs5JCs

does nobody know any political music? come on now, is it too much to ask for a Jow Forums music thread where theirs actual Jow Forums related music instead of nazi marching songs and synthwave?
THANK YOU it's actually pretty good too

I like Protomartyr but they're major cucks. Look at their lyrics on Genius and see how up his own ass the lead singer is.

Another by NiN - The Good Soldier.. can be interpreted as dialogue from both sides of Israel/Palestine conflict.
