I think it's more the internet than anything that's causing it to fall apart for them. You have to think about it like this. During the Bush years, the only arguments anyone heard from the right, was either from FOX news, which was demonized, or from church, but chances are if you went to church you were right wing anyway. Now there's constant political debates going on all over the internet.

I agree user, the political agendas in film and games are just too clumsy and obvious, we used to see token minorities given real roles, now the roles given are that of a token minority.

I doubt it. It may have a negative effect to the people old enough to remember some semblance of normalcy, but the kids born post-2000 are drowning in propaganda, and by the time they grow up, right-wing thought will probably be illegal on the internet. That said, eventually we'll all be future boomers and we'll be the largest demographic since the kids of today won't be multiplying.
