Because it's human nature. Humans like to flock to radical ideas after a while and genuinely like change even if it means it is chaotic. Take me for example, i like Capitalism and what it has done for me, but i'm bored of it, this is why i voted for Jeremy Corbyn - i literally voted for this guy just because i wanted radical change purely out of boredom, i simply wanted to see what if would be like to live under a Socialist. And lastly, most people don't actually understand Communism or Socialism.

In terms of the change part, humans don't like doing the same thing, we like to evolve and see things change. If the world lived in a Communist society for as much as Capitalism has then we would start to see people romanticizing Capitalism - because it's human nature to want something to change - humans don't like something being constant.

In term of not understanding - almost every commie or Socialist i know cant tell me what the systems do. They think everything will be free, classless, and there will be no crime - they think they can get ANYTHING they want, whenever they want such as getting a house, a sports car - ANYTHING - when in reality it is simply redistributing a limited number of resources to the whole world as Marx wanted Communism to be border-less. The problem with the typical commie is that they don't understand that yes, maybe there will be equality, but living standard would decrease drastically for you because there is no such thing as infinite resources - the ones i have met literally think we will be in flying cars and traveling the solar system and we all live happily ever after.

Because there aren't any current implementations of "true" capitalism, people can wish away any and all flaws in their hypothetical utopia and present it to themselves and others as an objective improvement. It's kind of like a combination of hindsight bias and those people who get angry watching a sports match shouting 'I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER THAN THAT!'.

Capitalism is implemented in some way or another across the world, and so it's harder to romanticize because the complications of actually implementing a socioeconomic ideology are already present.

Capitalism is reliable but unsexy to the younger crowd that is hardwired to seek change.
Teenagers are better at seeing hypocrisy. This is hijacked by the lefties. Saying it's not fair that some have and some have not is much simpler than the (usually more complicated and nuanced) alternative.
Being younger and having fewer resources, redistribution of wealth appeals to them (much like during tough economic times). When they get older they (usually) start to have a more developed world view (which way it develops doesn't really matter for this point).
This, combined with the increased use of personal growth stunting higher education is why the voting age should be raised to at least 25. We are already held hostage by the unengaged and impressible masses, we don't need egregiously undeveloped minds to add their drool to the ballot.
