Overpopulation -- what's gonna happen?

is 'overpopulation' a meme or is this an actual serious problem?

is there anything we can do short of genocide or mass death by disease?

The THANOS SOLUTION.

the only areas its a problem in are the ones where food is hard to get, imagine my shock.

LOL I love this map.

I believe the areas with booming populations such as Africa will eventually fully industrialize and the growth will slow down. This cycle has happened all throughout human history due to improving medicine and tech; Africa and other areas have just been behind.

There will be a major war between Asian countries, mass asian immigration to the west...China is already claiming oceans and colonizing Africa

>This cycle has happened all throughout human history
not really though. sub-saharan africa has always been been a shithole. they have only really developed past the stone age because they were colonized. i don't see it happening, the population of africa is going to increase by a billion

hmm, like india vs china?

>is 'overpopulation' a meme or is this an actual serious problem?
Overpopulation is a real thing. It has often inspired exploration and migration of peoples.
>is there anything we can do short of genocide or mass death by disease?
No. Well, we can stop sending food to Africa. Assuming however that for example China becomes the dominant overpopulated country, war becomes inevitable.

>is 'overpopulation' a meme or is this an actual serious problem?
>1 job opening
>50 people applying for the job
You tell me.
That's just one example.
The planet can't support so many damned people.
It's like a fucking ant bed.
How many resources can the planet really provide?
It's not a matter of "OH, THIS FAGGOT JUST WANTS DEPOPULATION", it's a matter of fact.

This map is outdated bro. We are savage atleast.

Unless, somehow, a predator more apex than humans appears to "balance out" the population, we will populate. I doubt overpopulation will be an issue.
[spoilers]...For now.[/spoilers]

Overpopulation is a meme. Population naturally adjusts to available resources. If you don't have the means to have a kid, you won't. The government can somewhat break this system with handouts and welfare, but that system has limited resources as well.

it's only overpopulation when "they" come "here".

They move to the west.
White peoples breed with em and turn out mutts.
No more white peoples.
The end.

do you really think that hundreds of millions of people can live in and drink poopy water for decades, and 1st world medicine can keep up with it? we can't even figure out the common cold

you forgot about negroes

Truth is the world is not over-populated, just over populated with ignorant people.

Please do this before thinking the world is over populated. This is something THEY don't want you to know.

Take the total amount of land on earth (in square miles, kilometers, acres, whatever), divide that by the population. The answer will shock the hell out of you, I promise!

>you forgot about negroes

The phrase "starving kids in africa" is literally the answer to overpopulation. The problem is that whites have a much higher standard of living over blacks. We decide to not have kids if it doesn't fit into our budget. Blacks don't think that far ahead. Because of this, there will always be starving kids in africa, but by sending them food, we'll make more of them.

>USA
>Civilized
Hahaha

overpopulation is absolutely a meme, but exponential population growth is a serious problem only for the upper-class elites in educated countries, as it develops a large middle class/working class population which do just fine without large-scale institutions lumbering over them.

If we secure our borders it won't be a problem.

anyone heard of the Calhoun mice experiments?

>Population density and social pathology in rodents and humans:
>In a 1962 edition of Scientific American, the ecologist John B Calhoun presented the results of a macabre series of experiments conducted at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).1He had placed several rats in a laboratory in a converted barn where – protected from disease and predation and supplied with food, water and bedding – they bred rapidly. The one thing they were lacking was space, a fact that became increasingly problematic as what he liked to describe as his "rat city" and "rodent utopia" teemed with animals. Unwanted social contact occurred with increasing frequency, leading to increased stress and aggression. Following the work of the physiologist, Hans Selye, it seemed that the adrenal system offered the standard binary solution: fight or flight.2 But in the sealed enclosure, flight was impossible. Violence quickly spiralled out of control. Cannibalism and infanticide followed. Males became hypersexual, pansexual and, an increasing proportion, homosexual. Calhoun called this vortex "a behavioural sink". Their numbers fell into terminal decline and the population tailed off to extinction. At the experiments' end, the only animals still alive had survived at an immense psychological cost: asexual and utterly withdrawn, they clustered in a vacant huddled mass. Even when reintroduced to normal rodent communities, these "socially autistic" animals remained isolated until death. In the words of one of Calhoun's collaborators, rodent "utopia" had descended into "hell".3 Calhoun's experiments with rats and mice proved extremely influential. His findings resonated with a variety of concerns, including population growth, environmental degradation and urban violence.

>Population density and social pathology (Comments by Calhoun):

>The consequences of the behavioral pathology we observed were most apparent among the females. Many were unable to carry pregnancy to full term or to survive delivery of their litters if they did. An even greater number, after successfully giving birth, fell short in their maternal functions. Among the males the behavior disturbances ranged from sexual deviation to cannibalism and from frenetic overactivity to a pathological withdrawal from which individuals would emerge to eat, drink and move about only when other members of the community were asleep. The social organization of the animals showed equal disruption. Each of the experimental populations divided itself into several groups, in each of which the sex ratios were drastically modified. One group might consist of six or seven females and one male, whereas another would have 20 males and only 10 females.

Overpopulation is a myth. Malthus was wrong

>French Guiana Civilized
>Uruguay Half-Civilized
yeah this map is shit

Not a problem. The universe is big and we need soldiers, Christian soldiers, to spread the gospel to those poor unsaved aliums.
Stop using condoms, folks.

Alex Jones interviewed a former green peace guy or some shit who did a lot of work in China back when they were snatching babies....he started using their data to crunch numbers and said that the earth can healthily hold 12 billion people. He also said something to the affect that we have wnough quality land on earth that every person could live on 40 acres....makes you think. We live on tiny squares while the elite on disgusting amounts of land.

Mass famines in Chimpfrica.
> Africa will eventually fully industrialize
Nope never happening under a nigger majority.

Huge meme.

Population is largely controlled anyway so no big deal
