I don't understand the narrative but genuinely, there are, as you know, lots of people here who are very unironically in favor massive state intervention in the economy with very high tax rates focused on the upper class. Many of them view wealth as unfairly gained, few have experienced success. I would have much preferred the house plan, I hate the senate, but it was a net gain. I want the corporate tax rate to be a near flat 10-15% but we'll get there. I get that the general public viewed it positively, there are dissenters here and around who view it negatively for the reasons I'm talking about which are nonsensical but still persist. The public perception is positive in general.
