Maybe, except this particular parallel is an easter egg. It's not exactly common knowledge and it's not the kind of thing you'd pull out of your ass from ancient scripture. plus the old story makes no sense without the new one. You have to actually dig deep to find it, and it's not the only one.
There's also Jesus becoming "sin" on the cross. seems strange that that would be necessary but look at the story of the snake on a stick that cured snakebites. Of course to understand that you have to also understand that it was a snake that was responsible for the original sin.
