yup, but you had to have it in a digital format, before you burned it to dvd.
And it's happened twice. Whom ever is burning the DVD's needs to keep the digital copy for X amount of time.

well the dvd's are to play in court.
Since it's the CPS that burns the video to dvd. And pushes that to the DPP (department of public prosecutions) in their folder for that particular case
when the case goes to trial, that dvd along with all the other bundles get brought to court.
But your right. CPS should be storing that info on a server with tape backups.
