It's been all but confirmed that dozens of students, faculty, and even teachers were relentlessly bullying the shooter in the months prior to the incident, including all of the victims.

If the school makes a big deal about the shooting and try to cash in on the anti-gun propa cash like the Parkland fags, then it's going to come out that the school was, in no small part, responsible for creating the incident. At which point a good chunk of the school faculty will probably be out of a job.

I'll never forget being 11 and reading my dad's Rolling Stone magazine about Columbine and other school shooters, and seeing Kip Kinkel's face and rundown. One thing is, the Santa Fe shooter used a shotgun, not an assault rifle. The state considers assault rifles more of a threat since you can easier take out long range targets in assassinations and have a better chance at gunfights against the police and military. They do fear a guerilla war.

They will whittling away at it by adding more and more criteria that make it harder, but not impossible, to get some form of arm.

They can always reduce the selection of weapons as long as there is at least one type of gun still available. They can increase the age requirement. It looks like 21 will be the new minimum age but why stop there?
Once they have the mental foot in the door, they will expand the definition of what it means to be mentally unfit to own a firearm. I can see them creating a tax that financially deters people from getting guns as well. All they need to do is gradually erode it in a way such that not too much change happens in one generation. Every new generation will be accustomed to new low bar and will be willing to forfeit a little more freedom because they will be ignorant to how much has already been conceded before they were born.
