I used to think it was a way for people abstract their own thoughts and try to see things from a different perspective. It seemed like an advance technique at refining the dialogue.
Then after a while I realized it was literally just propaganda reduced to the simplest possible images to appeal to people who really don't know anything about the subject. Political cartoons should be illegal and cartoonists sent to gulag.
