First time that I heard of it. Yes, people will treat you differently if you behave differently, but not that much more than in other places. In fact, Germans are relatively cold socially (you don’t start small-talk while waiting in the queue at the checkout in a supermarket), so being a bit awkward flies more easily under the radar in those kind of circumstances. You can actually spend a night out in the clubs without ever speaking a single word, except for what you want to drink.

I disagree. I'm not like super attractive or anything, maybe a little above average, but I'm a smart, educated guy who went to music school. I've fronted bands, that kind of thing.
