My copy of Generation Identity has arrived today. But it's shorter than I thought and will finish it quickly, so I need a new book already.

I'll let you know as soon as I'll finish it, which won't take long. Keep an eye for books threads.

Also "Through the language glass, why the world looks different in other languages" by Guy Deutscher
Good introduction to how language is a reflection of it's speakers mental capacity. One of the theories campaigned by Noam Chomsky is that we're all the same and any linguistical differences are irrelevant. Of course this is total horse shit so this opposing idea deserves more attention

Read Outliers and skip the last chapter

I would like to read a book about geopolitics and diplomacy, besides Kissinger's "Diplomacy". Any suggestions?

I haven't read them as I'm not much into geopolitics, but I believe Ian Smith has written some on the geopolitics and diplomacy of Rhodesia during the Bush War.

Anyone here read Seveneves ?

The Prince by Machiavelli.

>your last book
Medieval People by Eileen Powell

Written by an English author around the WWII era. The interesting part is the beginning which serves as an intro for the rest. It goes on to explain that Romans were having 1, 2 children, or none at all while the Germanics found it shameful to limit births and were dominating Europe by having 6, 7, 8+ births and dominating by pure will and might. The decline of Roman peoples and subsequently Roman culture seemed to coincide with the increasing influx and outbreeding by Germanics, leading to Rome's downfall. This serves as part of an explanation, one which draws parallels to the modern age and would be considered highly problematic no doubt leading it to be "debunked" by "experts" if published today.

>your current book
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

Very good read. At page 800~ so nearly done with the book, and it's already one of my favorites.
If any of you have seen any of the movies (they are both good in their own ways), the book is not just a little different than the movies, but nearly totally different. And I don't blame the movie makers because there is such a wide cast of characters with intertwining stories that it would be impossible to condense it into a movie. The best method to bring this onto a screen would be to turn it into a television series/mini-series.

RECENTLY PURCHED/BACKLOG:
>Julius Evola
Ride the Tiger
Revolt Against the Modern World

I have never read Evola, but being that he's commonly sperged by fascists and other right-of-the-spectrum types, so I'd like to give him a bit of a read. Now I expect to find out if he is worth the read or largely a meme.

i mean, something about the international politics during the cold war up to now that could explain the behavior and objectives of the great powers. I know Chomsky writes about it but im not a fan of leftists.

>Scandinavian
Poetic Edda
Prose Edda
The Sagas of the Icelanders
Norse Mythology by James Shepherd

>Germanics
Germania by by Tacitus

Should be an interesting read as it's one of the earliest writings detailing Germanic cultures. Of course, I recognize that there will be some Roman bias in the writing thus leading to some inaccuracy, but I have heard it recommended time and time again and do expect to learn something about early Germanic culture.

>Nietzsche
Basic Writings of Nietzsche

Although not a nihilist myself, I've always been fond of Nietzsche and infatuated with the complexity of his style. This book is a compilation of his works, which I specifically orders partly due to the ease of having most of his work in one but also because it's one of the few hardcover Nietzsche books that doesn't cost an arm and a leg (and I almost exclusively buy hardcovers both for durability and display purposes).

Also wouldn't mind getting some recommendations from anyone browsing ITT, thanks.
I have a bit of a backlog, but that's no problem.

*Also would like to add that the only book I've read of Nietzsche thus far is "On the Genealogy of Morals", with the famous depiction of the European "blonde beasts" in the eyes of the Jews. Quite a read.

>Culture of Critique
>200 Years Together
>The Black Book of Communism
>The Giving Tree

i dont think such a book would ever exist because of ((antisemitism)). The closer we'd get would be leftists screeching about burgeoisie as always. Plus i read some nice geopolitics books in my time, but they all failed (except for kissinger) on showing the big picture and the general goals and doctrines of the current powers.

A good book in this sense would be Schlesinger's Cycles of American History, in which he explains the behavior of the americans. While amazing, it doesn't go further than america and can't explain the relations among the powers and their goals.

Last book: Patriotism - Yukio Mishima

Currently reading an investment book while I wait for The Metaphysics of war to show up

I recommend For Whom the Bell Tolls

Just finished the boer war by martin bossenbroek. I didn't care for it, it was too much of a narrative history focused on the perspectives of several important actors in the war, rather than the financial and diplomatic causes of the war.

I'd appreciate any other recommendations about the history of Europeans in southern Africa.

Storm of Steel. It's basically the journal of a WWI german soldier. He lived through WWII and was a supporter of nazism, but he later regreted that according to (((them))). It offers insight into the mind of a young man thrown into the fires of war. The good, the bad and the absolutely horrific. Surprisingly though, there are more good things than you ought to expect.
If that ain't enough to get your attention, I'll leave yall this quote:
"This was the home of the great god Pain, and for the first time I looked through a devilish chink into the depths of his realm. And fresh shells came down all the time."
