>It's clogged up your inbox with pleading emails, but another unintended consequence of GDPR could be bad news for teenagers.
>The European data laws coming into effect this week will introduce new rules around kids and online services, in some cases requiring children under 16 to get parental consent before using apps that ask for personal data
>Not all European countries have the same age limit of 16 – GDPR leaves some wiggle room to lower that threshold to as low as 13 (which has been the general standard across the US and Europe until now – hence social media platforms like Facebook requiring users to be at least that old). The UK and Ireland have opted to keep the age of consent at 13, while countries including France, the Netherlands and Germany have moved to adopt the 16 limit.
>In response, some apps have simply changed their age restrictions to say that users must be 16 to use them at all; last month, WhatsApp updated the minimum age of European users to 16 (though you still only have to be 13 to use it in the US). Facebook still allows 13-year-olds to sign up, though they will need parental consent to access some features such as personalised ads.
thats fucking great, now ban american music and series too
Aiden Garcia
we can all thanks onigger for handing over the power of the net to the UN while illegally sitting as security council chain. As well as the UN adopting the hate-speech laws soon after you're fucking stupid
I"m not so sure this is a bad thing. I really think that less TV/phone time/etc is what everyone needs.
Liam Cook
I think it's a good move.
Kids don't get exposed to all the gay shit and refugee propaganda that is rampant on Twitter and Facebook. Also think it will lower depression at young ages because kids don't get so exposed to how good some other kids life is. It generally means less exposure to dangerous ideas for the easily influenced.
Also we wouldn't want a generation that is being raised on garbage memes. Kids shouldn't be tweeting about there boring lives. They should be outside playing, laughing and growing up. Not exposed to the garbage Twitter and Facebook shuts out.
Caleb Turner
>digital consent
wew
Angel Evans
Death to Babylon II.
Adam Anderson
As if that’s going to stop anyone lmao, kids don’t watch porn either because the site says 18+.. right?
Jayden Jackson
That's older than the age of consent in most of Europe.
but its rampant in their classroom and TV Social media is the only place they can see anything different if it wasnt for social media putting a spotlight on the BS journalists were doing people would still believe what the mainstream media was selling
Josiah Lewis
Social media and smartphones have shown to take primary priority in one's mind to the point you can't properly think by being in proximity near a phone. Other things that are in your primary attention priority is your name so that you coule notice it even around a lot of background noise. Let that sink in and tell me how's this is a bad think. I wouldn't let my kids near technology, let alone social media until they are 16 minimum
Landon Robinson
believe it or not guys but Jow Forums has a presence on social media and you are reaching people. that is what they are trying to stop here.
Jaxson Price
give them time, the pedos will surely get the law changed so they don't lose an important recruitment method
Gavin Ross
generation z is growing
Isaiah Kelly
That combined with this
We can't stop winning
Asher Carter
>ARMYS PLEASE DO NOT TWEET YOUR AGE What did he mean by this?
Jason Jackson
Hopefully it will result in a big dump of their user base. >twitters share price: How low can you go?
Thomas Bailey
Probably when ((they)) identify themselves for whatever thing there are virtue signalling for at that second.
Parker Moore
Only thing that is going to die is your unemployment payments once austerity kicks in to pay for privilege of leaving EU.
Logan Lewis
Is the UN controlled the net this whole site would be shut down and any non American poster would be in prison for hate speech
Kayden Sanders
im not saying social media is healthy im saying the reason they are doing this is because we are having an affect on social media that is one of the reasons why they scream "russian bot" so much >dont listen to him he's just a russian bot, ignore his opinion If it wasnt for social media spreading the truth we would not have trump and mainstream media would not be referred to as Fake News.
They do not want kids seeing anything outside their propaganda ie. classrooms/television news
Ryan Hernandez
ARMY is what fans of kpop bou band BTS call themselves. I'm ashamed that I know this.
The EU also banned the average bloke from keeping even 1 bass fish this year when you go fishing, meanwhile large commercial boats can still catch as much as they like.
EU is a fucking joke, terrible terrible plague on the people.
Hudson Robinson
Kids being banned from social media is a legitimate improvement.
Caleb Gutierrez
>you're fucking stupid why is letting kids on social media ever a good thing?
Julian Nguyen
This is a good thing. Surprised we don’t have it here yet.
Asher Young
> @hiplikejbooty
I want to ban this particular teen from existence.
John Lee
Good. Kids should be out playing instead of being inside glued to their phones.
Evan Ross
Good, social media has a NEGATIVE influence on impressionable young people who have no idea how the world works. Someone explain to me how I can block access to (((instagram))) for anyone in South Africa.
Grayson Garcia

>Be German >Can have sex at 14 >Must be 16 to tweet
Caleb James
The new European legislation about users' private data protection coming into effect these days is one of, if not the, most protective laws against misuse of users's data that there are a few sperglord kids getting pissy about it, just the better
David Barnes
I don't think young kids are that interested in TV and the news and such. If the parents are decent they will not have leftist ideas.
I always say that experience as a child has a big impact on your life as an adult. If a Syrian refugee bullied some Dutch kid and they were both let's say 12 years old. The Dutch kid will be biased towards refugees. That is why I hate Turks, they treated me like shit when I was a kid so I have a general bias towards them.
Also you got those retarded internet challenges, so kids will be less exposed to the idea of eating dishwasher soap. Celebrity will also have less of an influence on kids too.
Kids should be outside developing based on their own experiences. I am glad I still see that here in the Netherlands but much less compared to when I was a kid.
I think it is a good thing and if not, it will be an interesting social experiment.
Caleb Clark
>im saying the reason they are doing this is because we are having an affect on social media Maybe one reason, but certainly not the only reason it ain't right for some internet companies to make money off influenceable little kids' preferences' data sold to big advertisement companies
Joseph Campbell
Twitter is a company and Twitter is their property and they can do whatever they want and....hue hue hue. I'm sure just yesterday they were loling about Trump being halted by the court from blocking people on his Twitter. Now their laughter turns to tears. IT RAINS SALT!
This. Social media is used to spread stupidity, Marxism, Social Justice and degeneracy. It's a kike brainwashing tool. Thats why all Social media sites are owned by kikes.
Austin Smith
How's that possible, 48 replies and only ONE sees how this rule is useless?
Jow Forums used to be a smarter board.
Lincoln Jones
based eu if only Jow Forums could ban the underage
Brandon Myers
Sites asking your ID pasports for their databases when? Wanna play some online game? ID required. topkek
Tyler Edwards
true, guess we will have to see how it turns out, id like to see kids getting out and playing more. just something tells me a reason they are doing this is because of how much social media is turning against the leftist agenda.
It's only the beginning for full goverment control over the internet. You idiots shouldn't support this.
Thomas Carter
haHAA
Eli Nguyen
[x] doubt but even if that was the case Government-controlled internet>Provider companies-controlled internet>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Social media big data-controlled internet
Evan Evans
this is a good thing 2bh
Jonathan Sullivan
Good idea.
Lucas Rogers
Watch test scores skyrocket.
Ryan Nguyen
This is the only thing you should be concerned about.. it is connected to pizzagate, QFagFraudnon and the Elite... It is ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE >when it is fully in place we will not have any recourse It will be too late... >the elite worship demons and satan >Elon musk says we are summoning the demons with AI >CERN mass sacrifice to Shiva >the elite are worshiping technology >AI will be their saving grace and god
I`m actually fine with this, most sites run by our government require ID check via bank or ID card already.
Camden Reed
This is fantastic!!
Charles Gutierrez
The goverment wants to control our mind, what we are thinking. They want to decide what to do with our bodies ( donor laws). The internet was our first global tool to help us think for ourselves. If you don't stand ground marxism will take over.
Mason Anderson
Good. Now if we could just get all of the fucking underage b& out of this place, the internet would be saved.
Ian Howard
fucking shit commie, kys
Colton Scott
just another reason why glorious EU is superior to the Amerimuttland

>DARK-SANGUINE ALERT - A MESSAGE FROM THE 1649TH BUREAU OF MEMETIC, INFORMATION AND CULTURAL WARFARE OF BRIT /POL CEREBRATE HIVEMIND
>In the early morning of 25.05.2018 Tommy Robinson was live streaming the court verdict of Islamic grooming gangs. This was reason enough for the police to silence him by intimidation and unlawful arrest!
>The UK is an Orwellian police state, addressing the problems is now an offence as our government no longer represents us, we the people are grossly offended and this type of persecution cannot be tolerated!
We the people must write to our MPs, elect those whom will represent us and most of all attend Speakers Corners on Sunday and other events across the UK!
>FIAT JUSTITIA RUAT CAELLUM - JUSTICE BE DONE THOUGH THE HEAVENS FALL
>MAY ALL THE POISONS THAT LURK IN THE MUD - HATCH OUT!
for perhaps the first time ever i think this is a good thing.
Parker Ramirez
Can we get the child drag queen social media accounts taken down then?
Charles Jackson
I`m not a communist, just a concerned citizen who wants more protection and stability.
David Sanchez
This is unironically a good thing.
Luke Jones
>The goverment wants to control our mind, what we are thinking And the government is controlled by how people vote, or how they're thinking I don't see the problem
Brody Richardson
The internet would be a better place without all of you really
Noah Ward
good news at last. Snotnose kids shouldn't even be on the internet.
James Sanders
Jesus, the majority of BTS fans are insufferable.
Not surprising since they're either preteen girls or womanchildren
Jace Miller
It just means they are going to roll out some new outlet to control what they see and learn. The EU is totalitarian and was losing control of the communist message. Now they can take it back for future generations.
Brody Foster
Based EU!
Hudson Baker
yep. kids need to be kept from computers like computers are poisonous snakes.
If only eCommerce bans were next but sadly they make too much money for that to happen but they and nomies fucked internet up
Tyler Wood
Good, theres no reason to allow children on social media
Jaxon Garcia
at least the AOC in Germany is still 9
Benjamin Cruz
And thats the problem you not seeing it.
Mason Gonzalez
Are you saying Muhammad was a pedo?
Juan Wood
i like write "like" and "um" fillers into my um twitter post b/c they are like necessary
Nathan Edwards
I remember when I was a kid on the internet and just chatted about my favorite Mario games instead of tweeting "fuck drumpff!!!!!! ban guns!!!" all day. EU actually did something right.
i bet they won't be banning the syrian kids propaganda accounts
Christopher Nelson
Good. Social media and every form of marketing and advertising that employs the use of any psychological or mind manipulation tactics should be punishable by death.
