Expensive. I live in the tri-state and to live on your own, let alone raise a child sufficiently is insane money. Where I live, a single bedroom studio apartment in the ghetto (or right on the fringes of said ghetto) is almost $1000 a month not including utilities.

Even if both you and your wife/GF/mother of your child are working 40 hour work weeks, you're still hard pressed to provide basic necessities while attempting to save some semblance of a college fund for junior. All of this also means no random outings. No going to the movies or dinner. You're working to live and that's it. If you can consider that living. And my figures didn't even take into consideration fees for transportation whether personal car or public transport. Or a baby sitter if needed.

I'm 26 and my buddies and I are working together to get THE FUCK OUT OF NJ. I'll be moving to Georgia or Kentucky in the next 2 years. When I have land of my own and I'm not being raped on property taxes by the state, then I'll seriously consider having children. I don't want to provide he basic necessities for my kids. And I want at least 4 kids.

Kids are not expensive to raise unless you make it expensive. In Germany you can practically turn a profit having kids.
The only major downside is having kids is that it eats up all of your time and when you do have freetime, you're doing it with your kids.
