We specifically have so much grievous shit wrong with our populace that there's a ton of money to be made with corporate medical fuckery.

First of all, the private healthcare industry is gi-fucking-gantic, and integrated with big pharma so there are trillions of dollars being processed over fatty's triple bypass and diabetes checkups. Second is that there is a ton of money to be made from either overcharging people who they know can't pay(to rack up interests, debts, and legal gains) or getting blank checks to the government. So this area in the middle of "assisted" healthcare where the government subsidizes use of privatized corporate healthcare is just a cash cow that our economy depends on.

This is why leftist attempts at "universal healthcare" are no more than the blank check to the government system, where the hospitals just inflate everything to make a profit because they're corporate entities.

I'm personally for a nationalization of the entire healthcare service as a federal service like the military or coast guard. Why the fuck do you privatize the industry of keeping people alive? Even in a minarchist system that seems a bit fucked.

BUT THAT'S WRONG. When the government is the single payer, even to private providers, they gain monopsony power to set prices. It's one of the reasons why Medicare and Medicaid consistently pay less per procedure than competing private insurances and also why Canada's drug prices are vastly cheaper than ours despite not having a national healthcare system like the NHS in the UK.

Private health insurance makes too much money. Literally just too much money to stop, it is a bedrock of our economy. Obamacare/Romneycare was supposed to be a compromise but it's too much of a legal mess to be implemented. it's built on multiple ridiculous open-corruption legal loopholes, which, even bending over backwards to ignore/accept, still ultimately forced SCOTUS to take out its keystone (the individual mandate). Without which it just cannot work, in any capacity.

The private health insurance business in the USA in an almost incomprehensibly malicious, purely parasitic (extractive) racket. It's not a healthy functional free market. It's supported entirely by literal state-monopoly (of the right to practice medicine), and by emergent monopolies (the insurance, university, and hospital cartels/trusts).
