There have been too many mass shootings for it just to be a coincidence. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed twelve students and a teacher at Columbine High School. Eric was on Luvox, an antidepressant. The Virginia Tech shooter killed thirty-two people and he was on an antidepressant. While withdrawing from Prozac, Kip Kinkel murdered his mother and stepmother. He then shot twenty-two classmates and killed two. Jason Hoffman wounded five at his high school while he was on Effexor, also an antidepressant. James Holmes opened fire in a Colorado movie theater this past summer and killed twelve people and wounded fifty-eight. He was under the care of a psychiatrist but no information has been released as to what drug he must have been on.

I've read all of their journals and other writings as well as every other document pertaining to the case. They were bullied slightly but that's not what made them killers. They were incels. So was every other school shooter. Massive sexual frustration combined with compulsive thoughts along with being part a small town with minor 'social' opportunities led to what happened. Many of these mass shooters come from small communities and they're all incels if not virgins.

I'll never forget being 11 and reading my dad's Rolling Stone magazine about Columbine and other school shooters, and seeing Kip Kinkel's face and rundown. That day he became my fav school shooter, the OG loner with the alliterative name. He was more authentic than Kliebold and Harris, more rock to their metal.

But Columbine was the perfect storm. The name alone is so memorable, ominous. It seems oddly predestined. The name is like Columbus, a typical peaceful high school name, but the "bine" imbues a weird menace evoking a combine thresher, machinery, like a barrel rolled onto the end of Columbus, terminating the word, trapping the students inside the word like fish in a barrel. It's the name of a flower yet the word seems to detonate. columBINE! Run and hide!
