generally, if you want to understand marx you should read the capital. not it's castrated version western academics call "marxism" (which is revisionist), not the pamphlet he made as propaganda for uneducated workers, but his body of work. start with the 1st capital book, then there are other works like the critique of german idealism etc. also, having some general backround on the german idealists and the philosophy of the era helps (both to understand marx and why western "marxists" have nothing to do with marx)
