If guns were the problem why weren't there mass shootings in the 1950s in rifling classes when the kids had guns in their hand every day? Why did these shoots just start in the past 2 decades? Define "common sense" since it sounds highly agreeable, how could someone disagree with common sense after all, and since those politicians pushing common sense gun laws often aren't really using common sense at all in what they push for and are showing that their opinion of common sense if it indeed isnt just an overly agreeable campaign slogan for legal changes is that few people should own guns and those they are allowed to own should be highly limited in selection, and extremely ludicrously expensive from "common sense" so there's a significantly heightened barrier to entry.
Please do not say we need better background checks, what the government knows about you is what the vendor will find out and if you have any past behavior or risk that should bar you from ownership you're weeded out right there. People who slip through the cracks and intended to go the murder-suicide route would of used a weapon to perform a murder-suicide anyways and a car takes a lot less skill to use than a gun when it comes to mowing down people quickly. Do we need common sense reform on all tools that can be used for killing?

Home economy/management classes as well as marksmanship opportunities were widespread. Shooters are for the most part here and today medicated. If we say they shouldnt own a firearm we're also opening a door to say people with depression and other more common conditions a person who is a responsible productive member of society should not be allowed to own them either because they are a risk to themselves/others.
A lot of the older generation is observing kids' issues solved through medications and ultimately it sounds like bad households all around mainly because the parents can't take the time or patience to discipline little Jimmy when a psychologically-affecting pill could pacify him for the time being and hopefully not cause some form of imbalance leading to deeper lifelong issues such as Amphetamines will do to youth who simply have trouble paying attention to class or are 'lazy' vs those who have ADD or medical lethargy.
Do you think guns, as a tool that has existed for longer than you or I have, have become more inherently evil with time, or that people have grown more evil and fucked up, including those who would push to disarm a country known for the right/appeal of owning firearms? What will banning legal firearms do to overall stem the tide on crime and hurt done by illegal firearms that were not acquired legally to begin with? Why would this country be any different when others who have had a hardline stance on gun control for longer than this one still have the same issues and are a step away from someone deciding to bring a hatchet to school and start killing their bullies/normies? Would a trained willinglg armed attendant who knows the layout of the school well and has a genuine attachment to childrens' safety and wellbeing help stop some school shooting issues? If a teacher were voluntarily to be this individual, would it be safe to say they care for the students' wellbeing and know the layout of the grounds to reduce collateral?
