Yeah. 1911 was the specific example that this was brought up on this subject in a conversation at a sports shooting club. However many years, less for obselete calibres, but p sure an OG 1911 falls into that category. Obviously not practical at all from a criminal point of view because it would be worth many thousands more to a collector than a rudeboy but it's just something in our law.
Note something like 30% of our gumcrime is commited with "antique" (usually obselete calibre with specifically machined/loaded ammo) firearms, so there might be a change soon.
Most antique firearms are muzzleloaders by the very definition, but we've now entered the age where catridges are antique, and even obselete calibres are being seen by the police in crime.
