While they still will dodge the question of what the cause of the big bang was, they essentially agree that a godlike creation force with no prior cause occurred, but they just get pissy when you start naming this creation force "God". Either way "God" is self-evident and its a semantics debate about what to call the origin of the big bang.

My dad was raised Christian and he still has some degree of respect for Christianity, but he doesn't practice at all and he believes that most other mainstream religions were also started by prophets sent by god. In his mind Buddhism is just as valid as Christianity, and so on and so forth.
My mom calls herself "spiritual", but is basically like a Wiccan. She'll believe in anything; unicorns exist (on a spiritual level), dragons exist (on a spiritual level), ghosts are real, you can magically heal people with fucking crystals, etc.....
Maybe being raised around all that nonsense is why I have such a hard time putting faith in anything spiritual.

That's a complicated question. It depends on what you mean by "God". It helps no one to be reductive. I believe that "that we are here" implies to some degree that there are forces larger than us. Because this world has to much order in it. I find it very bizarre that we as humans eat minerals that come from the ground, so logically I would say we came from the ground. I then would proceed to explain chaos which in itself has order. Which tells me it has to be designed in order to carry out its functions. Then I would have to say it’s very odd that a tiny spider is capable of creating wonderful webs.... As if they too were design. Then on top of that I look at humans which we’re able to create so therefore we must have a creator. Then from there I look up to the universe and see it too is in order. Order can’t come from nothing so there has to be someone behind all of this because it’s to beautiful and well thought out for it to be anything else than a creator. This is why I’m searching for the god of the universe. The only problem with this endeavor it feels like no one really knows the truth. Which makes it almost impossible to find the real God.
