I have no good way to counter the inevitability of the Mega Corporation.
Eventually the entire world is going to be run by maybe 5 mega corporation conglomerates. All the brands you know and love will still be around - but they will all be owned by these mega corporations.
It's inevitable. The only thing I could see changing it is serious advancement in 3D printing.
The only thing that will kill the mega corporation is our ability to create almost anything we need at home. Chemical printers for drugs and pharmaceuticals. Metal printers for engine parts, tools, etc. Advanced multi-material printers for printing integrated circuit boards with all chips / elements printed as one piece.
Basically a Star Trek replicator.
That's the only thing that's going to stop the mega corporation in my opinion.
