This isn't surprising, most formal Jewish doctrine technically forbids the creation of a formalized nation prior to the arrival of a messiah. Judaism is not a monolith, the sects that believe in creation of a formal state before that are relatively few. Judaism has a lot of versions with a lot of different views/ideas. There were a little over 1200 Jewish men that fought for the Wehrmacht during world war 2. (some estimates are as high as 150,000 but only about 1250 have been verified so far). There are some that are indifferent, there are some that are against Zionism, there are some that believe that Zionism is the biggest threat to Judaism because it gives some people the wrong impression about Judaism (their words not mine). If anything, this guy has some serious guts for openly protesting.

there might have been some people that thought that the billions in advanced arms that were sold to that Saudis that he helped out with could end up in the wrong hands. I could see some people going off of the deep end thinking that doing that then trying to negotiate middle east peace talks would be some kind of religious/political taboo. I am not saying that the people claiming that wore tin foil hats, had too much coffee and just ran with it... but given the kinds of folks that have made accusations of someone they disagreed with being the anti-christ in the past, i wouldn't rule it out.
