More knowledgeable about Christianity than most people who attend church
a clever man
A HERETIC
A retard reading hebrew cult writing.
Church is a huge trap. All the church wants is to guilt you into paying a tithe and exposing you to degeneracy. Fuck the church. Stay home read the Bible or whatever bullshit you want to read and spend the time and money on you and your family. Don't waste it on a godless building full of godless idiots looking for a social club experience.
Christianity is evil and false, beware false prophets go towards truth.
Based.
Protestants are NOT christians
A real Christian
Are you reading the Bible as literal truth or just a collection of fanciful stories?
Truth.
Then you would have to attend church or at least some sort of congregation with other Christians.
Does family count?
why would that be necessary
then you're a retarded protestant
Well read, and you now have a more complete understanding of what western civilization was based on and to boot you'll understand the millions of references to it in other literature, movies etc.
you must also study history to understand the time and politics
MAKE SURE you tamper your learning with a skeptic like bart ehrman who i believe, even from a believers point of a view, presents a more truthful picture of Jesus than any preacher. Jesus did not have a virgin birth. Jesus did not turn water to wine. And that makes the story much more beautiful.
Yes family counts, but they would have to be Christians also. But imo family isn't enough, the ideas become to insular and knowledge is limited, it's usually how cults start.
On the flip side, finding a good church is hard, really hard. You usually find a lot of dick suckers/riders (literal and metaphor) of the pastors. Just be ready to drop them as soon as problems come up, or stay and be dedicated to slowly changing the church to be better.
He was asking from the basis of Bible being literal truth, so aside from the historical and social context of church it can be viewed on Biblical grounds of which is better, to be by oneself or a congregation/assembly of fellow believers? Obviously the answer is with other believers to support and strengthen each other. I can give you the Bible passages if you want but a simple Google search would be just as effective. So if he's taking the Bible literally then it's better to socialize with other Christians and worship/study/eat/fast together than to do it alone. That's not to say the group can't become corrupt as there are many instances of that in the Bible.
An anti social bookwurm
a man reading a very old book
I guess to be more specific to your OP question, it makes you a easy mark for the world, get ready to lose either your faith or your life.
You need a guide to enter Christianity. If you're protestant you're a lost cause anyway.
>a real Christian
Really getting tired of your heresy
Intelligent if you can comprehend it.
An avid reader.
god doesn't exist anyway

Heretical

Really explains the position of the Church.
Reader of popular fiction.
You’ll be burnt at the stake for this heresy.

most religions are based on THAT you worship and believe not WHERE you worship and believe
The HWP Bible is the inspired word of God
As much as I love SyeTen's videos, on a base level they're not much more than satirical straw-men arguments for atheist circle jerks.
that's good but I'd say it's very beneficial to your spiritual life to have a community, and a church can give you that
I'm personally catholic and imo attending mass makes you live and feel your faith much more strongly
Don't need to go to church to be Christian. I haven't been in about 10 years, but I still pray and try to live my life according to Jesus. You can also read the Bible and not be Christian. sometimes others read it just to see what's in it.
I don't disagree, He's my goto for low-level arguements on religion.
Stephen Fry probably mid-tier arguements even though he is a homosexual he is able to articulate his points far better than most in the field.
Then Top-Tier we are talking animism, mysticism and wierd shit.
I remember the last time I was burnt at the stake.
It will be much the same as the next time.
I will say this guy has a point though. Its nice to have a spiritual community. I don't agree with my church's stance on most things unfortunately (they support LGBT rights and most other SJW things.) They're good people, but they've been misled.
Also don't let the angry /pol atheists get you down. There's a reason this part of the site is called politically incorrect.
Check it out Goys.

>misled
This is the wrong view imo, no one is misleading them, they're just giving in to the ways of the world because the flesh is weak and it's the easier to get along by going along.
A protestant
alot of them don't believe in mass Or needing to confine your self to a church.
reading in nature is no different then reading at home
Alot of other christains will counter argue that you need song and communtiy readers to make sure you are reading your bible
baptists tend to go to church and be at home.
I personally don't think there is a wrong way to pursue christ and the word of god but others may disagree.
t.baptist Christian
Yeah, thats a better way of putting it
>I don't agree with my church's stance on most things unfortunately (they support LGBT rights and most other SJW things.) They're good people, but they've been misled.
unfortunately this is the mess protestantism has made for itself, I'd recommend anyone to join the catholic or at least the orthodox church, this has many benefits, but the first you might notice is that there is no sort of acceptance of degeneracy
Suddenly showing up at a church with 2000 year old tradition some things you won't be used to, but with help of a priest (they are there to help) or a friend you can ease your way in comfortably
A Christian , salvation comes from our lord Jesus christ , not the church
this.
Jesus expressly commands true believers to demolish all unsanctioned churches also.
You are meant to pile up some Rocks.. not build a fucking temple.
Jesus gave us the church as a tool towards the salvation of everyone
?
>Jesus expressly commands true believers to demolish all unsanctioned churches also.
I do not know about that , but any building can be a church , you can even have a meeting outside and call it church , God is within us and not in a temple anymore
the abomination of desolation is counterproductive to salvation.
thats the point im making, Big Churches adorned with Gold are to be destroyed.
We are meant to go out into the world as the Earth Is a Temple in itself.
Piling up rocks to build an altar for your sacrifices is the correct way to offer offerings.
might help clarify if I say Churches that push doctrines of evil are to be destroyed.
>Jesus gave us the church as a tool towards the salvation of everyone
Jesus gave us his words only with his words you can fight the battle within you , you can sit on a church bench listen to your priest a thousand years , it will not change anything
>you can sit on a church bench listen to your priest a thousand years , it will not change anything
this is deeply ignorant
the priest is there to help you understand and to perform the sacraments, catholics pray and read the bible as well as taking part in the community, even those who don't read it by their selves get the bible read out to them in mass
Are you telling us that God will not Help us ?
You are legit saying Jesus lied to us.
>the priest is there to help you understand and to perform the sacraments,
This is very important for salvation ....... back to being a jew , salvation comes from Christ not from rituals
I bet your the kind of person to believe God put the bulletproof glass on the pope-mobile.
>paying a tithe
Are you retarded?
If you believe in Jesus that makes you a Christian
These
This
doesn't matter the sect, what matters is that the message is being received.
We dont need no priest i am good with jesus words and the holyghost , i have a far greater understanding then i had 5 years ago , what do you have ? the opinions of a priest
>But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Fellowship is good, but church attendance is not necessary for salvation...just acceptance of Christ.
Where in the bible does it say a follower of Jesus has to sit in a "church"?
The church is anyone who believes in Jeuss.
Half way there. Humans are imperfect so they need to form groups to bounce ideas off each other/come to a consensus.
I'm not going to answer to you, you're the satanic australian from yesterday and I refuse to play your game
The sacraments are rooted in Jesus' words directly, we know only God can save, I don't know what fantasy church you have made up in your mind and are attacking, but it's not the catholic one
priests are meant to be the successors of the apostles, like the apostles performed sacraments, so do they, like baptism, or you don't believe in baptism either?
if you have read the bible and understood everything perfectly at once (which I strongly doubt) good on you, most people, because we are imperfect creatures might need to ask more knowledgeable people what the meaning of some event in the bible meant for example
This.
Fellowship is important, because it allows you to learn from others, to help others, and to build a good relationship with those who share your beliefs.
If you are out on your own, and just read the Bible by yourself, what happens when you come across a section you don't understand fully? Or when you hear of a common argument against the Bible (it's full of inconsistencies, it has been changed, the KJV is the only true Bible etc etc etc ad nauseum)? Or when you have trouble in life, and start to doubt?
It is amazing the things that suddenly start to happen in fellowship. My business has grown through church members using me, and then recommending me. I have helped two people move in the last 2 weeks (that saves people a lot of money!). We have held fund-raisers for local community groups, and for church projects. And I have got to know some really good people, who I have had great times with. Also, my knowledge of, and belief in, the Word of God has grown so much!
but remember that the people are the church, not the building or the denomination they follow.
>The sacraments are rooted in Jesus' words directly
show us the verse he never does such things , drink wine and eat bread to remember him by , its not even a commandment , unlike the 10 commandments the catholic church had broken
>or you don't believe in baptism either?
I believe baptism must be done by a holy man and since there are not , i dont believe in baptism today
>baptism
“He who believes and is baptized will be saved” (Mark 16:16, NKJV). Jesus told Nicodemus, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water [baptized] and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5, NKJV). Jesus further told His disciples to go everywhere preaching the gospel and making disciples and baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:18-20)
>confession
John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
James 5:16 says, “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”
“Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy” (Proverbs 28:13)
>drink wine and eat bread to remember him by , its not even a commandment , unlike the 10 commandments the catholic church had broken
I don't know what you mean by this, you mean Jesus didn't want us to repeat the partition of bread and sharing of wine?
The Church is holy, individual men are imperfect, but baptism is not in a sense done by men but by God, only he has the power to cleanse our sin, we merely ask for it and baptising is performing the steps He laid out for us
>He who believes and is baptized will be saved
>He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
See how you do not complete the verse , there are rituals in christianity and if you do them you are saved because you are christian , the symbolic rituals on it self do not save , you do them as a Christian this is your salvation
>He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
ah yes, certainly you can be saved without being baptized, it is entirely possible and was a main topic of discussion yesterday
that doesn't mean we shouldn't baptize though
>The Church is holy,
The church who teaches you to disobey god is holy
>The church who teaches you to disobey god is holy
when does it do this?
is my spanish flag bringing out repressed memories? I can get a memeflag
This.
A reader of the Bible? It's what you feel in your heart that makes you who you are.
Oh gee lets see wich of the 10 has the roman catholic church broken past and present
I am the Lord thy God, thou shall not have any gods before me.
You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything.
Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
You shall not murder.
.
You shall not steal.
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
There all the sins a roman catholic walks in to by joining the church
More in tune with the original teachings than the smoke, mirrors and bullshit of today's churches?
Not a believer myself, but everything since the Bible has been a human vanity.
I'm sure many priests have broken all the commandments as imperfect humans with shortcomings but it is absurd to say the Holy Church, which teaches us not to break them and spreads the word of God, could in any way be guilty of them
in any case, I see you only claim these things, but do not substantiate them, why are you so angry user?
>You shall not steal.
Buying your way out of purgatory
>You shall not murder.
Dont have to answer this do i
>You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
All the church has done is lying
>I am the Lord thy God, thou shall not have any gods before me.
Turned jesus back in to the warrior god of the jews
There's just as much pro-gay degeneracy in the American Catholic Church. Some bishops are openly pro gay or openly gay themselves.
The only retards are those who give money to a church.
the bible is the facebook of the old time
its full of shit and lies
>why are you so angry user?
I am not angry i would rather see that people saw truth and saw the churches for what it is a cancer on this planet
a chump unless you use the book as it was intended, to make drugs
please achmet the bible is the word of god
>You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything.
ah I see, some of the usual old protestant claims
in any case, it is not out of the question that bishops, cardinals or even the Pope could've made mistakes, because they are human (infallibility is not a doctrine that says every word that comes of the Pope's mouth is the truth, but that is another topic)
drink wine and eat bread to remember him by , its not even a commandment , unlike the 10 commandments the catholic church had broken
>Buying your way out of purgatory
I don't know how they are called in english but afaik the "waivers" that were sold were meant to substitute penance, the reasoning being that losing a large amount of money was a penance for your sins since it was a sacrifice. Nor I nor anyone stands behind this practice and hasn't for hundreds of years, and it was never as widespread as you were told. The same with the inquisition:
>Dont have to answer this do i
the inquisition investigated and reported the crimes, the sentence and punishment was applied by the king's authorities
>All the church has done is lying
wew
>Turned jesus back in to the warrior god of the jews
lol no
but you're wrong
>drink wine and eat bread to remember him by >, its not even a commandment , unlike the 10 commandments the catholic church had broken
was meant to be a quote
>You shall not be a attention whore
Keep on the good work spaniard bro
>>Turned jesus back in to the warrior god of the jews
>lol no
What are the crusades? literally blind
>the inquisition investigated and reported the crimes, the sentence and punishment was applied by the king's authorities
it makes you precisely a reader of the bibble
