WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT DEMOCRACY BEING HIJACKED IN ITALY??!!

Because it isn't hijacked and the parties that got elected are memes who are opposition now suddenly in charge.
Because the Left controls the megaphones. They decide what gets talked about. Get with the program.
All the media are pro-eu and keep spreeading lies over lies.
The formation of the alternative government is suspended for now, it woudn't take even a single vote in the parliament and they know that this would break the illusion that we're still a democracy. They're pressing Salvini and asking him to retire the candidacy of the eurosceptic minister but he's still resisting and asking for new election. If he backs down Italy will stop being a soverign state and will turn into a EU colony with limited democracy.
Democracy as first world countries understand it is overrated anyway
Democracy didn't get hijacked
The President of the republic has to approve the ministers that are presented to him when the government is formed.
Salvini (head of Lega) played some great 4D chess. He insisted upon a finance minister that he knew would not sit well with the president of the republic (because the man in question, Paolo Savona, is very much in favour of an exit from the euro, something which was not part of the electoral platforms of neither Lega nor M5S).
The reason Salvini insisted on Savona, despite the fact that Mattarella (Italy's president) offered the role of finance minister to Salvini's #2, is that he doesn't want this government to be formed so that new elections may take place.
This is because, since the elections, he has emerged as the clear leader of the centre right coalition, while before it was still a toss up with Berlusconi.
On top of that, Di Maio (5* leader), has been flip flopping throughout the whole period and generally not looking very good.
This would mean that, were new elections to take place, Salvini would emerge much stronger than he currently is.
Recent market crisis may change this though, as the severity of the situation is becoming more apparent. Elections would also have to take place in august, which makes them much more uncertain. And to go on until then without a government could be very bad for Italy.
Because nobody knows what the fuck is actually happening right now in Rome, we've been hearing conflicting claims all day now.
What it's clear is that Mattarella realized that he fucked up big time and now he is desperately trying to backpedal after his proposed technical government flopped before even starting crashing the stock market yesterday

Stupid goyim
Honestly the way Italy is going I'd imagine Casapound using this to their advantage
Remember when people say "democracy isn't real" and you call them stormfags or nazis?
Yeah...
do I really need to be the one to say it ? Fuck Italians
Casapound is totally irrelevant on the political scene
The president can't stop the nomination of a minister for his political ideology. I know that this is the narrative our media is pushing but it's just wrong.
I know I'm just saying I'd see them pulling some shit to use this event to their advantage to get more members in
It may be a stretch of his powers, but it's not a direct violation of them either (which is why only 5* loonies and the desperate meloni actually called for his impeachment). If 5* or Lega had run on a platform of exit from the Euro this would not be an issue.
There is wide consensus among italian constitutional lawyers that what Mattarella did was permissible.
It's not like you can do anything about that kind of abuse of his powers, even if he got impeached the court would acquit him. It proved to be a tremendous boost to Salvini, and apparently there is still a chance we get the Lega-M5S government with (((Savona))) in another ministry and someone from Lega for the economy
He's being impeached and the Italian public is now so angry, they have the support to completely rewrite the constitution how every they see fit. Italext is coming.
lol, where did you read that
even those critical of his move say unequivocally that there is no grounds for impeachment
>He's being impeached
No he isn't
>Italext is coming
No it isn't, unless the EU does something extremely stupid (again)
There are a lot of constitutional lawyers that disagre with the choice of Mattarella but they don't get space in the media. You should also read the words of the fathers of the constitution, the were very clear about how limited the powers of the pdr are. We aren't a presidential republic.
germany is definitely trying it's best

stop being spaghetti faggots WE WERE PROMISED HAPPENINGS
You should know that nothing actually ever happens
With every passing day, especially the more I see the comments by Italians on the internet, the more I am convinced that we will go the way of Greece, so you may well yet get your happening
We can't go the way of Greece, we are too big to be "saved" by other European banks, a default on our part would spell the death of the euro and of a good chunk of the world economy.
That's why we need a plan for going back to our own currency in case the worst happens, so to limit the damage for both us and Europe. But apparently seriously considering that Italy might fail and need to exit the euro is enough to get you banned from entering the government
I honestly can't take seriously any person who believes that what Mattarella did was right. I know well that the impeachment is impossible right now and Salvini did the right move when he refused to support it, but to actually believe all the blatant lies the media is saying you have to be a zombie. You can't argue with someone like that. If Salvini back down on Savona it's over.
Only diehard piddini think that Mattarella did the right thing, but they are the same kind of people that believe that before the euro we were poor, that austerity is good for us and that Italy should be a tourism focused economy (actual phrases I heard during a train ride uttered by a M*lanese sciura and a group of T*scANI)
>tourism focused economy
that's an interesting way of saying 'slave'.
sigh... we need to swithc side again. The sooner the better.
DO IT PASTAFAGS
>Salvini would emerge much stronger than he currently is.
wacky coalition with ITABREXIT would have been pretty neat. What if the establishment win or 5* side with anybody else in response to this sleight?
But that's what they want, they have been so indoctrinated by our selfhating media that feeling anthropologically inferior to foreigners is part of their personal identity. This is goes hand in hand with a sense of moral and intellectual superiority toward other Italians, and they'd love nothing more than to be the kapo in a Germany-controlled Italy (which was actually the role of PD in the last six years or so)
It isn't just piddini sadly. I consider them zombies, they believe anything the media tells them and are totally unable to doubt the institutions. When you try to reason with them they'll accuse you of being a conspirationist and try to ridiculize you.
Look at how until a few days ago they all considered Salvini a total retard and now they all say that he's a genius plaging 14d chess. Their opinions literally change with the headlines of newspapers.
it will be uscITA.
Why does Casapound supports gayyos?
Luckily, almost no one trusts the MSM anymore, pretty much only old people take what is said by TV and newspapers at face value. I can't find the graph, but it was polled that Italians are the least likely to trust them, and it showed
They're nu-fascist.
Gays are the last of our problems right now.
I agree, but I was just wondering.
Probably because they are a bunch of homos
btw I heard sources saying that Cottarelli would stall, that he'd try talking to the parties and gain the votes.
bump
I don't remember that, in Italy, a head of state would dare to refuse to appoint the government elected by the majority of the parliament (Lega and M5S). It's a coup d'état.
Finalmente qualcuno c'è arrivato
Tbf, maybe I'm giving Salvini too much credit when it comes to the Savona choice. Either way, it ended up playing in his favour. 4D chess or not, as long as he checks the polls he knows that he's better off now than on election day.
Anyway, as of now, seeing as everyone is freaking out about a possible crisis, the people are pressuring him to form a government.
Right now 5* are trying to force him to stop playing games and show his hand, so he may end up not going to early elections after all.
