I don't get any news from American mainstream media. I agree that they focus far too much on demonizing Donald Trump, and completely fail to address the real issues that actually affect everyday Americans (macro-economic issues). This is deliberate, because this type of media functions more as state propaganda than useful journalism. It's the same with the Democratic party. They do not want progressive socialist (please try not to think of socialist as a bad word) policy because it affects their bottom line. Media companies are in a conflict of interest between their obligation to disseminate the truth and to make money. The Democratic party will not nominate a progressive because their leadership consists of corporate hacks, who are beholden to their donors (pharma, military/prison industrial complexes, media conglomerates etc).
I will not however concede that Trump voters were not duped. I will not fail as tribalism has had so many Americans fail to see that the Republican party is the greater of two evils, and Trump's presidency is not just gross to look at, but actually a nightmarish manifestation of democratic failure happening in front of me.
