"Art" is as broad a term as "Sport" or "Drink". You don't blame professional fencers for the latest football scandal. You don't blame old Irish whiskey drinkers for gay shit they put in cocktails. Although it's tough, try to think of that when you speak about "art" because people who know what they're talking about will automatically turn off.
This type of art is performance or a fine art (quote unquote, yeah I know). Well, the point to take home about silly stuff like this is that it's up for interpretation - the fact that someone financed and game them a space to perform that "art work" provides it a level of validation irrespective of the actual content. You are able to think and do whatever you feel appropriate after its taking place.
Myself? I'm a traditional draughtsman and animator, so although I technically "get" stuff like this, I still don't like it. It's a lot of nonsense.
