There are a lot of ways to look at the bible structurally, old and new testament, books of Kings, Prophets, Gospels, etc..
One good way to view the Bible structurally is as a series of covenants, or contracts between God and Man
Adam and Eve had one set of rules (they broke them) in the Garden, a second set to apply when they had been cast out into the earth. The rules were shifted (slightly) after the flood.
The appearance of Jesus is by far the greatest shift. He completely reworked the arrangement between God and man by taking mans sins on himself.
This eliminated sacrificial offerings, for one thing, a major shift in religious practice between ancient Israelites and Christians.
Jesus directly contradicts the old testament in a number of ways.
The book of Psalms has a song of prayer to God asking for his help in sacking an enemy town and killing everyone there including tearing infants from their mothers breast and dashing their brains out against the nearest wall.
Jesus says it's better to tear your own arm off than to hurt one hair of an infants head.
This is just one of the clear changes between what Christians are taught and what the Old Testament teaches.
All Christians study and understand this concept.
The fact that you don't understand this core belief of Christianity is a good sign you should not lecture others on that faith in the future. Your knowledge level here is woefully inadequate.

It's rather sad to see that many are likewise in the belief that the NT and Jesus contradict the OT. or that the laws in the OT are not valid anymore. The covenant between God and mankind has always been standing, and will forever stand. The changes we see throughout the entire Bible, is that different parts of the covenant are fulfilled.**

For example, in Genesis already a covering was made for the sins of Adam and Eve. After all, an animal (read lamb, read Jesus) had to die so that God could make their covering. They kept to the good ways God had taught them, how they had lived. After a short while though, further rebellion entered the actions of mankind.

It was therefore that these good ways were given to Moses by a law. You must distinguish the Godly 10 commandments and the Mosaic laws that were imposed to let the society run well. Though inspired by God, they stand one level lower in importance than the commandments. This can be seen in how the commandments were written by Gods finger, and the Mosaic laws were spoken later on.

Of course, you see that in Psalms and other books very cruel things are described. But one must again realize here that this is either after God Himself proclaimed that these peoples should be destroyed, or otherwise you can see it in the light that the writer is either persecuted or severely suppressed by the unlawful.

In any way, Jesus Himself has said that He had not come to remove even a single word or a syllable from the Laws (commandments). He also said that we, as followers of Him, should be even better than the Pharisees. That is why He raised the bar even further. He and all of His followers have always kept the laws, except for the ones explicitly diminished, because it was a symbolic custom no longer needed. These customs were, for example, circumcision, but also and especially the services at the temple.
