Parents get funny because you deciding not to vaccinate triggers their own fear of inadequacy. There is no taking the decision back once you choose to inject a child. So it's easier for them to call those who choose not to vaccinate stupid instead of dealing with the guilt that they voluntarily allowed their children to be medical experiments. It's easier to feel better about your choice when you immediately dismiss those who chose differently as stupid and uninformed, because the consequences of understanding what you have willingly done are too great for some.

Look at the MMA fighter Nick Cantone, who's wife is a nurse. Their child was killed from vaccinations, it's rare yes, but they willingly took their child into get those shots. Even after months before they saw negative reactions from the previous dosing. This is a terrible burden to live with now. Not exactly accurate. Sure, none of them have a 100% mortality rate, but public health is also about reducing morbidity, not just mortality. Off the top of my head diptheria and tetanus is a pretty important vaccine, those have a non-negligible mortality rate, especially in children, and the vaccine for that has helped greatly in the last 100 years for those.
