You do realize it's different currency, right?

just closed on a house for your mother, leaf

>average house price in an australian city is $800,000-$1,000,000+

Chinks have decided to invest their offshore money in our realty. However they are slowly starting to get nervous about this questionable move with weedman at the helm.

You see if Britain had let America conquer Canada we would not be having this conversation now would we?

The British cucked you.

>nujak
leaf, housing is the last of your worries

It's just as bad here. What takes 20 years of our working life in Canada or Australia can be done in the USA in 5 years.

For all the USA's problems at least their housing market is pretty normal outside of California.

The USA actually has an oversupply of houses. You can walk away from a mortgage in the US. Mail the bank your key and just walk.

Doing that in Australia will totally destroy you.

>a house in the states cost 20k

Wut? Even in Canadabucks, all but the most shitty rundown repos in places like Detroid are a lot more than that.

He not wrong unfortunately we fucked ourselves in the end too
A decent flat here is 170k odd
A damn flat

a house does NOT cost $20k

>elects left wing parties that drive up the cost of economic goods and housing
>gee why do things cost so much?

those patches of snow up north were contested by the french and brits well into the napoleonic wars, so one can guess that he was talking about the land now "formally" known as canada

>living in rural Missouri
>know a guy selling a 2BR house that needs a lot of work for $2500
>spend $5k over 6 mos to fix it up
>have nice house for under $10k, in comfy midwest with privacy fully paid off, still a 10 min drive from Wal Mart Supercenter

Feels great man. Cost of living in the midwest is crazy cheap. Get out of Cali chumps

>Oversupply of houses
Not exactly true
Depends where you are looking
>walk away from a mortgage in the US
wrong
the only way you're walking away from a mortgage free and clear with no bankruptcy (fucks your credit for 7 years) is if you put up collateral that satisfies the lender or you take over a loan from someone else that doesn't have a transfer of liability

median home price in the US is 258,000 as of April 2018

Yeah but there's fuck-all to do there.

not so, negrito.

only in tornado alley

but NYC, Boston, Seattle, Portland, D.C. Tejas and are all extremely overpriced

>house
>under $10k
Bull fucking shit. The shittiest area in Missouri would still be $70k for a crappy small house

The average house on the west coast or northeast is over $400k USD. Adjust for Aussie-USD and it's about the same. There are cheaper homes in crappy places but anywhere nice to live is expensive

>20k
lel not unless you're buying a house from 1912 that needs to be completely rebuilt, wtf are you smoking...
