What the fuck is going on in our universities? These are meant to be institutions of higher learning, no? It used to be difficult to get into university and a university degree of any kind used to mean something. What is going on here? I'm a first year student studying toward a BCom in PPE. My economics professor spent 8 god damn lectures explaining market forces i.e. supply/demand, equilibrium, etc. He could have done this in less than an hour. Does everyone else around me really need 8 full fucking hours to understand how the market works in the most basic terms? Am I the retarded one who thinks he gets it but doesn't?
My politics lectures are all liberal circle jerks and all of my philosophy professors are moral relativists so they are a complete wash -- probably going to switch to a BSc purely in economics next year.
I just graduated from a historically black university. In order to save money and get in state tuition, this uni was the only one in my state to offer an aviation program.. spent 4 years there. If you only knew how bad things really are..
I got to my final year of IT and did a group project with 4 Asians who literally couldn't string to get a written or oral sentence. I am wiping my arse with this degree and getting a trade afterwords.

Two things: massive massive groupthink due to faculty picking their friends and peers for tenure leading to a 20:1 liberal:conservative split. Nobody can challenge leftist idiocy anymore without being called an anti-intellectual for lacking a fancy piece of paper. Second, colleges are also in it for money and have enticed many people who shouldn’t be there to enroll. These people just frankly aren’t smart enough to be there and their presence holds back the class. This reinforces the first point since you have to come up with easy As and uncritical majors to allow these people to graduate, giving rise to entire departments of useless shit (gender studies, fat studies, etc.). And then there are the professors who are genuinely twisted and can’t be removed from their positions because of tenure.
It’s a really broken and poisonous system and needs to be deleted.

Universities are rapidly becoming places of anti-learning. STEM is still somewhat isolated, but even that is starting to get hit by bullshit. The degree is transforming into more of an indicator that you were willing to put up with marxist bullshit for 4 years, which many companies will want.
