Only sincere Christianity works to benefit you, your family and your race. You must realise it is necessary to be sincere to obtain these benefits. Then, if you find yourself unable to believe, separate that part of your self. Practice doublethink, doubting yet believing, incredulous yet credulous, sceptical yet faithful. Throw yourself into Christian practice absolutely and unashamedly, and let your disbelieving self laugh at you from the back of your mind.
Then one day you wake up and that part of you has died. That is how you become a Christian.

Did not John the Baptist say that Christ comes to baptise us with the Holy Ghost and with fire? What is it to be baptised with the Holy Ghost, if not a washing, a purification, of the brain?
