Might be good to have a base in Poland. When it's time to finally deal with Germany, again, then the base is nearby. Poland will also benefit from having a base; lots of jobs could be generated, inside and around the base, as well as jobs revolving around materiel supplying. So some of the dues Poland would be paying is essentially going back to them, in the form of economy-stimulating jobs, with the extra bonus of having a US base to deter any potential aggression from neighbors (like Germany). US-Polish relations would also improve, which could open up other opportunities only available to very close allies of the US (like how the UK has a "special relationship" with the US). Imagine joint operations with the US, joint development of military tech, and so on. Maybe Poland could finally develop that fancy tank of theirs that rival Germany's Leopard tanks. We kind of need a partner to develop tanks anyways; Abrams is an aging platform that would probably get trounced by German and Russian tanks. We are basing most of our tech innovations and improvements on effectively and efficiently fighting sand people armed with RPGs and other low-tech options, because most of our conflicts revolve around the Middle East. Time to focus more on a potential conflict in Europe that requires more than anti-sandnigger tech. Oh, anothr bonus for the US: Poland as an additional staging ground for deployment of tanks and other land assets/hardware/platforms.
