Well, it seams like it would function more like a satellite dish since it's not grounded. It would act as a conductor of electromagnitism as waves pass through the metallic medium; much like putting tin foil on an antenna to boost signals to a TV.

On a side note, I do think the idea of idea of the human head as a natural antenna holds water. Primarily because I think that psionics are a real thing: a weakly interacting force that's governed by its own wave/particle.
