Alright boys, I'm doing it. I used to attend Mass all the time as a young kid, but haven't for forever. I'm going tomorrow.
I can't believe that it was lurking on this hive of scum and villainy ( I mean that in the best way possible) that led me to reconsider my opinions on religion. It's really something strange and beautiful that an infamous anonymous image board could lead me to look into my family's religious roots. Anyone else have a similar story? Or thoughts on Catholicism?

Good start, make sure to keep going and look into how our Lord operates in all aspects of your life. Also read Summa Theologica. It's a big and complex read but critical for understanding core tenants of our church

Dr. Bonnette is a really helpful resource I have a bunch of his lectures on tape. You could honestly listen to his stuff for months and still not be ready to fully understand Aquinas
Some of the best books are like that, I think. Better digested slowly than anything else. But first I gotta tackle the Bible. It's funny, I actually recently found my great-grandmother's bible going through some of my family's stuff in the basement recently. Lots of good things lining up.

My first suggestion before going to mass is too read up on what the mass is, and what each component of the mass means. If it has been a while since you went, you might not realize that the Catholic Mass is essentially a complex prayer with a set structure. Each part of the mass serves a specific purpose. It would be good to get a feel for how the Mass is structured. Especially before you rush headlong into Latin Mass, like some anons here are suggesting.
Secondly, go to confession before you receive the Eucharist, as this user advised It is actually probably best to learn about the Eucharist and what it is exactly before receiving it at all. Once you do understand what the Eucharist is, you will appreciate why. You can still go to Mass, and there is nothing wrong with sitting in the pew while everyone goes up to receive. You see a lot of people sitting in the pews during communion for various reasons. It is nothing out of the ordinary.
Thirdly, while the Church is great, and still going strong, it has been plagued with a serious issue since the last half century. And that is poor Catechisis. There are so many Catholics today who are ignorant about what the Church teaches and Church doctrine, and that is harming the faith. As a Catholic, it is your responsibility to arm yourself with knowledge, through study, formation, and talking with clergy members who you know are loyal to the Church and her teachings. Faith and prayer are important, but in this day and age, so is being learned. Just find some resources that introduce the basic teachings, or better yet, talk to a priest. No need to jump into the Catechism or the Summa right away. That could be overwhelming.
Maybe when you got to Church tomorrow, introduce yourself to the priest, and explain your situation. Most places, the priest usually stands around outside after the service to socialise.
