I cant speak for everyone obviously but i know a lot of people im 19, come from a pretty shitty little town and for the people in the town they never leave you just work within in it if you dont go to university. Most people are working for either the warehouse/factories or down the quarry in the town and will always work there but even that is changing , i worked in one of the warehouses for a bit before the agency let 100 people go in 1 day with explanation, when i was working there of the persay 200 employees around 20 maybe were english the rest are poles and i dont have a problem with the poles atleast they're white, but the people i grew up with the white british kids who didnt do too well at school well it's either a deadend life for them in this shitty towm forever working a shit job or they turn into drug addicts/alcoholics and live in the council houses near by. My job is pretty technically heavy and I still earn less than my parents did working minimum wage, comparatively. If I took purchase power into account, I'd need to earn 4 times what I do now to be in the same standing they were in as soon as they left high school and walked into a job.

im originally from south shields place got pretty decimated in the last couple of decades a lot of people from my estate on the dole claiming child and housing benefit. This isnt that unusual. You can get hundreds of applicants for very ordinary jobs. Happens all the time in my place.
You get people applying with similar but unsuitable qualifications as well as foreigners that will spam any job with a CV and they arnt even resident in the country.

Most CVs are dumped with little more than a glance leaving maybe 20 real applicants to interview.

I had to do 6 months at the old place on the way out but i had so much vacation i took every other week off and worked both jobs full time for 6 months. 40 hours a week at the old job and 80 hours a week at the new one. Not really. Websites collect job advertisements and filter them. Its possible to have a generic CV that you only have to slightly modify to apply to many jobs in a single day. These days there are people who went to college for low quality, generic science and engineering qualifications. They are basically unemployable since respected universities and courses produce enough tailor made applicants for the good jobs.

Because they're a generation that has grown up staring at their phones and social media screens and have no idea how to interact with other people properly. So they have serious anxiety problems when working with other people.

Also the level of entitlement is astonishing. Most of them think they deserve, they're literally owed by society, the job that they want, because they came out of uni with a 2-1.
