What is Jow Forums's experience with antidepressants? I have severe depression, have thought about offing myself since I was a little kid. Every time I try an antidepressant, the psycologist tells me it won't work for two to six weeks. Then, the antidepressants make me high for 3 days and stop working. I also took ADHD meds and they made me focus at the cost of being a violent douchebag, I will always feel regret for things I did on adderall. I smoke cannabis now instead of take these horrible psych meds, say what you will about cannabis but it works for me so fuck off. Anyway post psych med horror stories.

I'm on 50 mg sertraline and it has stopped my mood swings. I also had a massive creative spurt but it was coupled with sleeplessness.

SSRI is only good if you go to therapy (I found cheap counselling in Ireland for 25 euro) and actually make an attempt to drop porn, too much pol, too Much sugar and whatever pseudo nihilistic chip that may be on your shoulder.

Otherwise you are doomed.

Antidepressants made me more anxious, every emotion i had was punctuated by thinking "is this my feelings or the pills"

Pot lets me relax for a couple hours on demand. Knowing i can occasionally smoke the thoughts away helps me push them away naturally a bit. I've also completely stopped drinking coffee and alcohol since i picked up weed

Depression pills show no significant change in people with depression

They do increase your risk for suicide

I’ve been on trintellix (ssri) for 9 months. I tried to stop/cold turkey and almost went crazy.

I’m back on a lower dosage weening myself off

Overall tho - helped a ton. So did clonopin

Klonopin is not a depression pill

Its a Benzodiazepine

I was on lexapro for a year. The only noticeable effect it had on me was that I lost my motivation to work out, and became obsessed with getting a girlfriend. As soon as I stopped taking it I went back to focusing on improving myself (lifting) and stopped worrying about whatever woman I was currently obsessed with thought about me.
