There was an image of an user explaining the situation. The gist of it is that editing wikipedia is like toiling in a mine for the sake of others. Something women are not willing to do. Instead women prefer to spend their time on tumblr, instagram, etc.

I'm pretty sure nothing has stopped men from writing about women of note in wikipedia or is there some kind of strange law I'm unaware of.

i assume he has not deemed it worthy to give an argument for why these things should be "balanced"? is there any reason for why there should be equally as many biographies of men and women? i guess it is enough to deviously evoke the deeply normative term "imbalance" to describe an inequality to establish that point. wikipedia is an encyclopedia, it has done its job if it gives the reader the information they need, and not if it "fully represents [...] women's stories".
