They can't understand that infant mortality used to be practically half, you'd lose almost half your kids before they turned ten to plague, malnutrition, infection and whatever else killed you(ie everything) so they think that big families were a sign of patriarchy and forcing women to have kids as a kind of punishment/prison.
They can't understand anything about community and society because their bonds are online and social and vanish as soon as the other person starts liking a TV show that is problematic, bonds were once geographic, you'd usually die within twenty miles of the house you were born in, everyone in that area would know you and you'd know them.
It isn't that they don't understand these things, THEY CAN'T, their entire worldview is that of the narcissist, the history of the world was populated by people too stupid to understand how important free-trade quinoa is not populated by people who were making the best decisions available at the time to ensure their ongoing survival.

These people have no understanding of history. They don't get that just 60 years ago a teen pregnancy was basically a sentence to an awful life. It's not even this that kills me anymore - it's the fact that so many people can act like this and are completely unaware of themselves and how that comes off. But of course nobody challenges it when it's done to them, because for some reason everyone thinks it's their god-given right to walk all over each other.
I feel like it's not worth the trouble Jow Forums puts itself through to try to win hearts and minds, or shift the Overton window or any of that, because one huge thing seems to go unnoticed.
The truth is that normies don't care about the truth. At this point, people are conditioned enough that hard facts with solid evidence and sources go straight out the window if it makes someone feel uncomfortable. But this is nothing new; it's the proto-redpill from which all others follow, and a human instinct that we've seen amplified to manipulate society.
But the point here is, normies don't have strong ideological convictions. Even disregarding that we're all a bunch of autists who read up on abstract political ideas/philosophy for fun, most people's ideas of "government/society/culture/the System" and how to change them are limited to the context of such institutions as they exist during their lifetime, or what they were taught in HS civics. As long as they get to keep living their lives the way they have been, without too much being asked of them, most people don't really care who's running the show. It all comes down to whoever has the most force and is providing stability.

At one point these were selfless, wise reflective people who were often I voiced in community activities and had advice and philosophical knowledge that they could counsel people with during hard times.
